21But a suitable day came, when Herod gave a banquet on his birthday for his court officials, military commanders, and leaders of Galilee.
22When his daughter Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his dinner guests. The king said to the girl,“Ask me for whatever you want and I will give it to you.”
19But when John rebuked Herod the tetrarch because of Herodias, his brother’s wife, and because of all the evil deeds that he had done,
20Herod added this to them all: He locked up John in prison.
3When King Herod heard this he was alarmed, and all Jerusalem with him.
16Fear seized them all, and they began to glorify God, saying,“A great prophet has appeared among us!” and“God has come to help his people!”
