6But now we are dried up, and there is nothing at all before us except this manna!”

21Moses said,“The people around me are 600,000 on foot; but you say,‘I will give them meat, that they may eat for a whole month.’
22Would they have enough if the flocks and herds were slaughtered for them? If all the fish of the sea were caught for them, would they have enough?”
1The Israelites Respond in Unbelief Then all the community raised a loud cry, and the people wept that night.
2And all the Israelites murmured against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them,“If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had perished in this wilderness!
3Why has the LORD brought us into this land only to be killed by the sword, that our wives and our children should become plunder? Wouldn’t it be better for us to return to Egypt?”
4So they said to one another,“Let’s appoint a leader and return to Egypt.”
5And the people spoke against God and against Moses,“Why have you brought us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness, for there is no bread or water, and we detest this worthless food.”

31Provision of Quail Now a wind went out from the LORD and brought quail from the sea, and let them fall near the camp, about a day’s journey on this side, and about a day’s journey on the other side, all around the camp, and about three feet high on the surface of the ground.
32And the people stayed up all that day, all that night, and all the next day, and gathered the quail. The one who gathered the least gathered ten homers, and they spread them out for themselves all around the camp.
33But while the meat was still between their teeth, before they chewed it, the anger of the LORD burned against the people, and the LORD struck the people with a very great plague.
34So the name of that place was called Kibroth Hattaavah, because there they buried the people that craved different food.
2So the people contended with Moses, and they said,“Give us water to drink!” Moses said to them,“Why do you contend with me? Why do you test the LORD?”
3But the people were very thirsty there for water, and they murmured against Moses and said,“Why in the world did you bring us up from Egypt– to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?”
4Then Moses cried out to the LORD,“What will I do with this people?– a little more and they will stone me!”
8Moses said,“You will know this when the LORD gives you meat to eat in the evening and bread in the morning to satisfy you, because the LORD has heard your murmurings that you are murmuring against him. As for us, what are we? Your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.”
11and the LORD spoke to Moses:
12“I have heard the murmurings of the Israelites. Tell them,‘During the evening you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be satisfied with bread, so that you may know that I am the LORD your God.’”
29They ate until they were beyond full; he gave them what they desired.
30They were not yet filled up, their food was still in their mouths,

32Moses said,“This is what the LORD has commanded:‘Fill an omer with it to be kept for generations to come, so that they may see the food I fed you in the wilderness when I brought you out from the land of Egypt.’”
