14Behold, while you yet talk there with the king, I also will come in after you, and confirm your words."
24Nathan said, "My lord, king, have you said, 'Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne?'
25For he is gone down this day, and has slain cattle and fatlings and sheep in abundance, and has called all the king's sons, and the captains of the army, and Abiathar the priest. Behold, they are eating and drinking before him, and say, 'Long live king Adonijah!'
26But he hasn't called me, even me your servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and your servant Solomon.
27Is this thing done by my lord the king, and you haven't shown to your servants who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?"

23Then king Solomon swore by Yahweh, saying, "God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life.
24Now therefore as Yahweh lives, who has established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who has made me a house, as he promised, surely Adonijah shall be put to death this day."

20Now, behold, I know that you shall surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in your hand.
37As Yahweh has been with my lord the king, even so may he be with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David."
18Then the king answered the woman, "Please don't hide anything from me that I ask you." The woman said, "Let my lord the king now speak."
11Now you say, 'Go, tell your lord, "Behold, Elijah is here."'
35Jonadab said to the king, "Behold, the king's sons are coming! It is as your servant said."
29The king said, "Is it well with the young man Absalom?" Ahimaaz answered, "When Joab sent the king's servant, even me your servant, I saw a great tumult, but I don't know what it was."
8Solomon said to God, "You have shown great loving kindness to David my father, and have made me king in his place.

16"Now therefore, Yahweh, the God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father that which you have promised him, saying, 'There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your children take heed to their way, to walk in my law as you have walked before me.'
18Bathsheba said, "Alright. I will speak for you to the king."
19Bathsheba therefore went to king Solomon, to speak to him for Adonijah. The king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself to her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a throne to be set for the king's mother; and she sat on his right hand.
32King David said, "Call to me Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada." They came before the king.
