6Then he called for Solomon his son, and commanded him to build a house for Yahweh, the God of Israel.
7David said to Solomon his son, "As for me, it was in my heart to build a house to the name of Yahweh my God.
8But the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 'You have shed blood abundantly, and have made great wars. You shall not build a house to my name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight.
17According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.
18Then David the king went in, and sat before Yahweh; and he said, "Who am I, Lord Yahweh, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?
19This was yet a small thing in your eyes, Lord Yahweh; but you have spoken also of your servant's house for a great while to come; and this after the way of men, Lord Yahweh!
16'Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.'
17"Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
18But Yahweh said to David my father, 'Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart.
19Nevertheless, you shall not build the house; but your son who shall come forth out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.'
11and as from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. I will cause you to rest from all your enemies. Moreover Yahweh tells you that Yahweh will make you a house.
2Then David the king stood up on his feet, and said, "Hear me, my brothers, and my people! As for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and for the footstool of our God; and I had prepared for the building.
3But God said to me, 'You shall not build a house for my name, because you are a man of war, and have shed blood.'
27But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can't contain you; how much less this house that I have built!
47But Solomon built him a house.
25For you, my God, have revealed to your servant that you will build him a house. Therefore your servant has found courage to pray before you.
12He shall build me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.
2But I have built you a house of habitation, and a place for you to dwell in forever."

16Then David the king went in, and sat before Yahweh; and he said, "Who am I, Yahweh God, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?

18"But will God indeed dwell with men on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can't contain you; how much less this house which I have built!
10and from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel; and I will subdue all your enemies. Moreover I tell you that Yahweh will build you a house.
13He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
38It shall be, if you will listen to all that I command you, and will walk in my ways, and do that which is right in my eyes, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with you, and will build you a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel to you.
25Now, Yahweh God, the word that you have spoken concerning your servant, and concerning his house, confirm it forever, and do as you have spoken.
6But who is able to build him a house, since heaven and the heaven of heavens can't contain him? who am I then, that I should build him a house, except just to burn incense before him?
11Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.
1Then David said, "This is the house of Yahweh God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel."
