10Gladness is taken away, and joy out of the fruitful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither joyful noise: nobody shall tread out wine in the presses; I have made the [vintage] shout to cease.

2He said: "Yahweh will roar from Zion, And utter his voice from Jerusalem; And the pastures of the shepherds will mourn, And the top of Carmel will wither."
20Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up your voice in Bashan, and cry from Abarim; for all your lovers are destroyed.
12They shall strike on the breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.
13On the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yes, on all the houses of joy in the joyous city.

29For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which you have desired, And you shall be confounded for the gardens that you have chosen.
30For you shall be as an oak whose leaf fades, And as a garden that has no water.
10Now will I arise, says Yahweh; now will I lift up myself; now will I be exalted.
9In that day shall their strong cities be as the forsaken places in the wood and on the mountain top, which were forsaken from before the children of Israel; and it shall be a desolation.
8Won't the land tremble for this, And everyone mourn who dwells in it? Yes, it will rise up wholly like the River; And it will be stirred up and sink again, like the River of Egypt.
13Yet the land will be desolate because of those who dwell therein, For the fruit of their doings.
4and the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be as the first-ripe fig before the summer; which when he who looks on it sees, while it is yet in his hand he eats it up.
17Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?
