9Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, If you bring me home again to fight with the children of Ammon, and Yahweh deliver them before me, shall I be your head?
3The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me: One who rules over men righteously, Who rules in the fear of God,
8Gilead is mine. Manasseh is mine. Ephraim also is my helmet. Judah is my scepter.
13Take wise men of understanding and well known according to your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.
