3and I sent the brethren, that our boasting on your behalf may not be made vain in this respect; that, according as I said, ye may be ready,
4lest if Macedonians may come with me, and find you unprepared, we -- we may be put to shame (that we say not -- ye) in this same confidence of boasting.
18Let no one deceive himself; if any one doth seem to be wise among you in this age -- let him become a fool, that he may become wise,
19for the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, for it hath been written, `Who is taking the wise in their craftiness;'
15as to wise men I speak -- judge ye what I say:
6And these things, brethren, I did transfer to myself and to Apollos because of you, that in us ye may learn not to think above that which hath been written, that ye may not be puffed up one for one against the other,
14and the greater part of the brethren in the Lord, having confidence by my bonds, are more abundantly bold -- fearlessly to speak the word.
13For to you I speak -- to the nations -- inasmuch as I am indeed an apostle of nations, my ministration I do glorify;

17For Christ did not send me to baptize, but -- to proclaim good news; not in wisdom of discourse, that the cross of the Christ may not be made of none effect;
29that no flesh may glory before Him;
