1And we ask you, brethren, in regard to the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of our gathering together unto him,

15and I will be diligent that also at every time ye have, after my outgoing, power to make to yourselves the remembrance of these things.
16For, skilfully devised fables not having followed out, we did make known to you the power and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, but eye-witnesses having become of his majesty --
1This, now, beloved, a second letter to you I write, in both which I stir up your pure mind in reminding `you',
2to be mindful of the sayings said before by the holy prophets, and of the command of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour,
25`These things I have spoken to you, remaining with you,
2And I praise you, brethren, that in all things ye remember me, and according as I did deliver to you, the deliverances ye keep,
4`But these things I have spoken to you, that when the hour may come, ye may remember them, that I said `them' to you, and these things to you from the beginning I did not say, because I was with you;
2I have said before, and I say `it' before, as being present, the second time, and being absent, now, do I write to those having sinned before, and to all the rest, that if I come again, I will not spare,
17and ye, beloved, remember ye the sayings spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ:
4for even when we were with you, we said to you beforehand, that we are about to suffer tribulation, as also it did come to pass, and ye have known `it';
5because of this also, I, no longer forbearing, did send to know your faith, lest he who is tempting did tempt you, and in vain might be our labour.
3according as I did exhort thee to remain in Ephesus -- I going on to Macedonia -- that thou mightest charge certain not to teach any other thing,
1And concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need of my writing to you,
2for yourselves have known thoroughly that the day of the Lord as a thief in the night doth so come,
5for I reckon that I have been nothing behind the very chiefest apostles,
3and I, in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling, was with you;

16have ye not known that ye are a sanctuary of God, and the Spirit of God doth dwell in you?
6For which cause I remind thee to stir up the gift of God that is in thee through the putting on of my hands,
4and this I say, that no one may beguile you in enticing words,
5for if even in the flesh I am absent -- yet in the spirit I am with you, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in regard to Christ;
17because of this I sent to you Timotheus, who is my child, beloved and faithful in the Lord, who shall remind you of my ways in Christ, according as everywhere in every assembly I teach.
26These things I did write to you concerning those leading you astray;
14These things remind `them' of, testifying fully before the Lord -- not to strive about words to nothing profitable, but to the subversion of those hearing;
5remember, then, whence thou hast fallen, and reform, and the first works do; and if not, I come to thee quickly, and will remove thy lamp-stand from its place -- if thou mayest not reform;
31`Therefore, watch, remembering that three years, night and day, I did not cease with tears warning each one;
9`him,' whose presence is according to the working of the Adversary, in all power, and signs, and lying wonders,
17Ye, then, beloved, knowing before, take heed, lest, together with the error of the impious being led away, ye may fall from your own stedfastness,

15so, then, brethren, stand ye fast, and hold the deliverances that ye were taught, whether through word, whether through our letter;
6These things placing before the brethren, thou shalt be a good ministrant of Jesus Christ, being nourished by the words of the faith, and of the good teaching, which thou didst follow after,
10ye `are' witnesses -- God also -- how kindly and righteously, and blamelessly to you who believe we became,
2and ye are having been puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he may be removed out of the midst of you who did this work,
2in which once ye did walk according to the age of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience,
7be considering what things I say, for the Lord give to thee understanding in all things.
2and I beseech `you', that, being present, I may not have courage, with the confidence with which I reckon to be bold against certain reckoning us as walking according to the flesh;
