እሞ ናብ ቤትልሔም ሰደዳቶም እዚ ኢሉ፣ «ሂውኩም ሕፃኑ ብጽኑዕ ፈልጡ ድለዉ፤ እንተ ኣርኣኹሙ ንገርኩምኒ ተመሊሱ እንዳ ክመጽእ ክስገድለይ»።

    11ኣብ ገዛ ምስ ደረሱ ሕፃኑ ምስ ኣደይኡ ማርያም ኣዩ፤ ተዋቐዙ ስገዱለው። ንዕባባትኦም ከፊቱ ስጦታታት ኣቀረቡለው፤ ወርቂን ቢልዕን መረን ሰጡለው።

    12በሕልም ኣብ እግዚኣብሄር ንሄሮድ እንዳ ይመለሱ ዝተጠነቀቑ ምስ ኮይኖም ብካልእ መንገዲ ናብ ሃገራቶም ተመሊሱ።

    13እዞም ምስ ወጹ መልአኽቲ እግዚኣብሄር በሕልም ለዮሴፍ ተረአየ እዚ ይብል፣ «ተነስካ ሕፃኑን ኣደይኡን ወስደላ ናብ ግብጽ ሽረ፤ እስኪ ቃል ክንኣትው ክነብልካ ድማ ኣብዚ ኵንኑ፤ እምበር ሄሮድ ሕፃኑ ንምግዳድ ክመክን እዩ»።

    14እሱ ተነሲ ሕፃኑን ኣደይኡን ለሊት ወስዶ ናብ ግብጽ ወጸኣ።

    15እዚ እንዳ ሆነ እስከ ሞት ሄሮድ ኣብ ግብጽ ነበረ፤ ዝተበለ ብነብዩ ቃል እንዲ ይፈጸም፣ «ካብ ግብጽ ወላዲየ ጠራኩ» ብምባል።

    16ሄሮድ ብጥበበናን ተስተዋሕዶ ከም ዝኾነ ምስ ረኸበ ብጣዕሚ ተቈጣ፤ እንተ ግዜ ዝሓተተሉ ካብ ጥበበናን ዝረኸበ ግዜ መሰል ኣብ ቤትልሔምን ኣብ ኩሉ ኣካባቢኣ ዝነበሩ ሕፃናት ኩሉ ካብ ክልተ ዓመት ታሕቲ ዝነበሩ ገድዶም።

    17እንደዚ እቲ ብነብዩ ኤርምያስ ዝተበለ ቃል ተፈጸመ።

    1ኢየሱስ ኣብ ይሁዳ ቤትልሔም እንዳ ተወለደ፣ ኣብ ዕለታት ሄሮድ ንጉስ እንዳ ነበረ፣ እዩ ጥበበናን ካብ ምስራቅ ናብ ኢየሩሳሌም መጹ።

    2ሲብሉ፣ «ንጉስ ይሁዳውያን ዝተወለደ ኣበይ ኣሎ? ኮከብኡ ኣብ ምስራቅ ኣርአናዩ፤ ክንስገድሉ መጽእና» ኢሉ።

    3ሄሮድ ንጉስ እዚኦም ነገራት ምስ ሰምዖ ተዘናጋ፣ ኢየሩሳሌም ኩሉ ምስኡ እንዲሁ ተዘናጋ።

    4እሞ ኩሉ ሓላፊ ካህናትን መጻሕፍቲ ሕዝብን ኣክብሮም ኣነሳሳ ሰብሮም፣ ክርስቶስ ኣበይ ክወለድ እዩ ብምርማር ሓተተኣ።

    5እነሱ ብለዉ፣ «ኣብ ይሁዳ ቤትልሔም፤ እንዲ ብነብዩ ዝተጻሕፈ እዩ።»

    6«አንቲ ቤትልሔም ኣብ ምድሪ ይሁዳ፣ ካብ መራኸታት ይሁዳ ኣጥቂን ኣይኮንኪን፤ ሕዝቤ እስራኤል ክመርሕ ዝበለ መራሕ ካብትኺ ክወጣ እዩ።»

    7እንደዚ ሄሮድ ብሕሉ ጥበበናን ጠሪዎም፣ ኮከብ ጀማሪ እንተ ተረኣየ ግዜ ብጽኑዕ ሓተተኣ።

    22ግን ኣርኬላውስ ቦታ ኣቦኡ ሄሮድ ኣብ ይሁዳ እንዳ መራሕ እዩ ምስ ሰምዖ ናብ ዚኣ ክሄድ ፈርሐ፤ ነገር ግን በሕልም ኣብ እግዚኣብሄር ምስ ተጠነቀቐ ናብ ክፋላት ጋሊላ ተዛዘረ።

    23እንዲ መጸኣ ኣብ ናዛሬት ዝተባለት ከተማ ነበረ፤ ብነብያት ዝተበለ ቃል እንዲ ይፈጸም፣ «ናዛራዊ ይባል እዩ» ብምባል።
