    13የቤትሴሜስ ሰዎችም በሸለቆው የስንዴያቸውን መከር እያከሩ ነበር፤ ዓይኖቻቸውን አንሥተው ታቦቱን አዩና እያየው ደስ አላቸው።

    14ሰረገላውም የቤትሴሜስ ሰው የኢያሱ መስክ ወደ ገባ በአንድ ታላቅ ድንጋይ ዘንድ ቆመ፤ የሰረገላውንም እንጨት ቈርጠው ሰበሩ ላሞቹንም ለእግዚአብሔር የሚቃጠል መሥዋዕት አደረጉ።

    19እግዚአብሔርም ስለሆነ በቤትሴሜስ ሰዎች ላይ መታ፥ ምክንያቱም ወደ የእግዚአብሔር ታቦት ውስጥ ተመልክተው ነበር፤ ከሕዝቡም አምሳ ሺህ እና ሰባ ሰዎችን መታ፤ እግዚአብሔር ከሕዝቡ ብዙዎችን በታላቅ መቅሠፍት ነቅቶ ስለ መታ ሕዝቡ አለቀሰ።

    20የቤትሴሜስ ሰዎችም አሉ፦ በዚህ ቅዱስ እግዚአብሔር አምላክ ፊት መቆም ማን ይችላል? ከእኛስ ይሄድ ዘንድ ወደ ማን እንልከው?

    21ከዚያም ወደ ቂርያት-ይዓሪም ለተወላጆቹ መልእክተኞችን ላኩ እንዲህም አሉ፦ ፍልስጥናውያን የእግዚአብሔርን ታቦት መልሰው አመጡት፤ ኑ ወርዳችሁ ወደ እናንተ ውሰዱት።
