    5ስለዚህ የእብጠቶቻችሁ ምስሎችን እና ምድሩን የሚፈርሱ የአይጦቻችሁ ምስሎችን ሠሩ፤ የእስራኤልንም አምላክ ክብር ስጡት፤ ምናልባት እጁን ከእናንተም ከአማልዶቻችሁም ከምድራችሁም ያሳነሳል።

    9እንዲህ ሆነ፤ ታቦቱን ከዘዋወሩ በኋላ የእግዚአብሔር እጅ በከተማው ላይ እጅግ ታላቅ ጥፋት አመጣ፤ የከተማውን ሰዎች ከታናናሾች እስከ ታላላቆች ድረስ መታ፤ በሚስጥራዊ አካላቸውም እጢ ደረሰባቸው።

    10ስለዚህ የእግዚአብሔርን ታቦት ወደ ኤክሮን ላኩት። የእግዚአብሔር ታቦት ወደ ኤክሮን ሲደርስ ኤክሮናውያን ጮኹ እንዲህ ሲሉ፦ የእስራኤል አምላክ ታቦትን እኛንና ሕዝባችንን ለማጥፋት ወደ እኛ አመጡት!

    11ስለዚህ መልእክተኞችን ልከው የፍልስጥኤማውያንን አለቆች ሁሉ ሰበሰቡ፤ እንዲህም አሉ፦ የእስራኤል አምላክ ታቦት ወደ ራሱ ስፍራ እንዲመለስ ልኩት፤ እኛንና ሕዝባችንን እንዳይገድል፤ ምክንያቱም በመላው ከተማ ሞታማ ጥፋት ነበር፤ እዚያ የእግዚአብሔር እጅ እጅግ ከባድ ነበር።
