    18በዐውሎ ነፋስ እጅግ ሲታወክ ማግስቱ መርከቡን አርገው ጀመሩ።

    19ሶስተኛው ቀን ደግሞ የመርከቡን መሳሪያዎች በእጆቻችን ጣልን።

    20ለብዙ ቀናት ፀሐይም ኮከቦችም አልታዩ እና ኃይለኛ ዐውሎ ነፋስ ሲያዕም እዚያን ጊዜ ሊድን ያለን ተስፋ ሁሉ ተጠፋ።

    21ብዙ ጊዜ ሳይበሉ ከነበር በኋላ ጳውሎስ በመካከላቸው ቆሞ እንዲህ አለ፦ ሰዎች ሆይ፣ ከክሪጣ እንዳትነሱ በመነበይ መስማት ይገባችሁ ነበር፤ ይህን ጉዳትና ኪሷም ባታገኙ ነበር።

    22አሁን ግን መልካም ልብ አድርጉ፤ ከእናንተ የሚሞት ማንም አይኖርም፤ መርከቡ ግን ይጠፋል።

    6እዚያ መቶኛው ወደ ጣሊያን የምትጓዝ ከአሌክሳንድሪያ መርከብ አገኘ፤ እኛንም በእርሷ ላይ አስገባን።

    7ብዙ ቀናት በዝግመት እየተጓዝን እስከ ክኒዶስ ተቃራኒ ድረስ በከባድ ችግኝ ደርሰን፤ ነፋሱም እንዳይፈቅድልን ስለነበር ከክሪጣ በታች በኩል ሰልሞኔን ተቃራኒ ሆነን ተጓዝን።

    8በከባድ ችግኝ እየመካከልን በመልካም ወደብ የሚባል ስፍራ መጣን፤ ያን የተቀረበውም ከተማ ላሴያ ነበረች።

    9ብዙ ጊዜ ከተካሄደ በኋላ ጾሙም ከአልፎ ስለነበር መጓጓዣ አደገኛ ሆነ፤ ጳውሎስም እነርሱን አስጠነቀቀ።

    10እንዲህም አለ፦ ሰዎች ሆይ፣ ይህ ጉዞ ከጭነቱና ከመርከቡ ብቻ ሳይሆን ከሕይወታችንም ጋር ጉዳትና ብዙ ኪሷ እንደሚያመጣ አያያዥ ነኝ።

    11ነገር ግን መቶኛው ከጳውሎስ በላይ የመርከቡን አለቃና ባለቤት አመነ።

    28ጥልቀት መለካት አደረጉ እና 20 ፋዝም አገኙ፤ ጥቂት ቀድሞ ከተሄዱ በኋላ እንደገና መለካት አደረጉ እና 15 ፋዝም አገኙ።

    29ወደ ድንጋዮች እንዳንወድቅ ስለፈሩ ከጀርባ አራት ማእቀቦች ጣሉ እና ቀን እንዲወጣ ተመኙ።

    30መርከብ ሰዎቹ ከመርከቡ ለመሸሽ ሲዘጋጁ ከፊት ማእቀብ እንዲጥሉ የሚመስል ማታለያ ስር ጀልባውን ወደ ባሕር አስቀመጡ።

    31ጳውሎስም ለመቶኛውና ለወታደሮቹ እንዲህ አለ፦ እነዚህ በመርከብ ካልቆዩ እናንተ ሊድኑ አትችሉም።

    32ወታደሮቹ የጀልባውን ገመዶች ቈረጡ እና እርሷን አለቀቁ።

    42የወታደሮቹ ምክር ከእነርሱ አንዳንድ መዋኘት ቢችሉ እንዳይሸሹ እስረኞቹን ማግደል ነበር።

    43ነገር ግን መቶኛው ጳውሎስን ሊያድን ወደደ እቅዳቸውን ከማተኮር አለፋቸው፤ መዋኛ የሆኑት መጀመሪያ ወደ ባሕር እንዲዘለሉ እና ወደ ዳርቻ እንዲደርሱ አዘዘ።

    44የቀሩትም አንዳንድ በሰሌዳዎች አንዳንድ በመርከቡ የተሰበሩ ቁራጮች ላይ ሄዱ፤ እንዲሁ ሁሉም ደህና ወደ ዳርቻ አመለጡ።
