    14እንግዲህ በአሶ በሬዎችና በግመሎች ላይ የሚቀመጡ መልእክተኞች በንጉሡ ትእዛዝ ተጋድለው ተደንግጠው ወጡ፤ ውሳኔውም በሱሳን ቤተ መንግሥት ተሰጠ።

    8ሐማንም ለንጉሥ አሂስወሮስ እንዲህ አለው፦ “በመንግሥትህ አውራጃዎች ሁሉ መካከል ተበትነው በሕዝብ መካከል የተበተኑ አንድ ሕዝብ አለ፤ ሕጋቸውም ከሕዝቦች ሁሉ የተለየ ነው፤ የንጉሥንም ሕጎች አያከብሩም። ስለዚህ እነርሱን እንዲተዉ ለንጉሥ አይጠቅም።”

    9“ንጉሡ ቢወድድ እነርሱ እንዲደመሰሱ ይጻፍ፤ እኔም ይህን ሥራ የሚያከናውኑትን ሰዎች በእጃቸው ለንጉሡ መዝገብ ገንዘብ እንዲያመጡ አስር ሺህ ታላንት ብር እከፍላለሁ።”

    10ንጉሡም ቀለበቱን ከእጁ አውጥቶ ለአጋጋዊው የሐመዳታ ልጅ ሐማን ሰጠው፤ እርሱ የአይሁዳውያን ጠላት ነበር።

    11ንጉሡም ለሐማን እንዲህ አለው፦ “ብሩ ለአንተ ተሰጥቶአል፤ ሕዝቡም እንዲሁ፤ እንደ ሚመስልህ መልኩ አድርግባቸው።”

    26ስለዚህ እነዚያን ቀኖች ከፑር ስም የተነሣ ፑሪም ብለው ጠሩአቸው፤ ስለዚህም የዚች መልእክት ንግግር ሁሉና ስለዚህ ነገር ያዩትን እና ወደ እነርሱ የመጣውን ሁሉ በመሠረት።

    27አይሁዶችም ይህን ሕግ ለራሳቸውና ለዘሮቻቸው እንዲሁም ከእነርሱ ጋር ለተቀላቀሉ ሁሉ ላይ ግዴታ አድርገው አስቀመጡት፤ እንዳይቋረጥም እነዚያን ሁለት ቀናት እንደ ጽሑፋቸው እና በተወሰኑ ጊዜያቸው ዓመት ዓመት እንዲጠብቁ ተስማሙ።

    12ንጉሡም ለንግሥቲቱ እስቴር አለ፦ አይሁዶች በሱሳን ቤተ መንግሥት አምስት መቶ ወንዶችን እና የሃማንን አሥር ልጆች ገድለዋል፤ በንጉሡ አውራጃዎች የቀረውን እንግዲህ ምን አድርገዋል? አሁን ምን ልትለምኚ ትወዳለሽ? ይሰጥልሻል፤ ወይስ ምን ተጨማሪ ልትለምኚ ትወዳለሽ? ይደረግልሻል።

    13እስቴርም አለች፦ ለንጉሥ ቢወድ፣ በሱሳን ያሉ አይሁዶች እንደዚህ የዛሬ ድንጋጌ ነገ ደግሞ እንዲያደርጉ ይፈቅድላቸው፤ የሃማን አሥር ልጆችም በእንጨት ላይ ይሰቀሉ።

    14ንጉሡም እንዲሁ እንዲደረግ አዘዘ፤ ድንጋጌውም በሱሳን ተሰጠ፤ የሃማንንም አሥር ልጆች ሰቀሉ።

    15በሱሳን ያሉ አይሁዶች ደግሞ በአዳር ወር በአሥራ አራተኛው ቀን ተሰብስበው በሱሳን ሦስት መቶ ወንዶችን ገደሉ፤ ነገር ግን በበዝመት ላይ እጃቸውን አላዘረጉም።
