    3አብርሃምም በማለዳ ተነሣ፤ አህያውን አዘጋጀ፤ ሁለት ከወጣቶቹ ባሪያዎቹንና ልጁን ኢሳቅን አወሰደ፤ ለየሚቃጠል መሥዋዕት እንጨት ቈረጠ፤ ከዚያም ተነሥቶ እግዚአብሔር የነገረው ስፍራ ወደ ሚሆነው ሄደ።

    4በሦስተኛው ቀን አብርሃም ዓይኖቹን አነሣ ስፍራውንም ከሩቅ አየው።

    5አብርሃምም ለወጣቶቹ ባሪያዎቹ አለ፣ ከአህያው ጋር እዚህ ተቀመጡ፤ እኔና ብላቴናው ወደዚያ እንሄዳለን እናምልክ ደግሞም ወደ እናንተ እንመለሳለን።

    6አብርሃምም የሚቃጠል መሥዋዕት እንጨት ወስዶ በልጁ በኢሳቅ ላይ ጫነው፤ እሳትንም በእጁ ይዞ ምስርም ይዞ ሁለቱም በአብረው ሄዱ።

    7ኢሳቅም አባቱን አብርሃምን እንዲህ ሲል ተናገረ፣ አባቴ ሆይ። እርሱም፣ እነሆ እዚህ ነኝ ልጄ ሆይ አለ። እንግዲህ እሳትና እንጨት እነሆ አሉ፤ ነገር ግን የሚቃጠል መሥዋዕት ጠቦት የት ነው? አለ።

    8አብርሃምም አለ፣ ልጄ ሆይ፥ እግዚአብሔር ለራሱ ለየሚቃጠል መሥዋዕት ጠቦት ያዘጋጃል። ሁለቱም በአብረው ሄዱ።

    9እግዚአብሔር የነገረው ስፍራ ደርሰው አብርሃም በዚያ መሠዊያ ሠራ፤ እንጨቱንም በተከተለ መልኩ ረድፎ አደረገ፤ ልጁን ኢሳቅን አሰረው በመሠዊያው ላይ በእንጨቱ ላይ አኑረው።

    10እንግዲህ አብርሃም እጁን ዘረጋ ልጁን ሊያርድ ምስሩን ወሰደ።

    11እነሆ የእግዚአብሔር መልአክ ከሰማይ ጮኸ፣ አብርሃም አብርሃም አለው። እርሱም፣ እነሆ እዚህ ነኝ አለ።

    12አለ፣ በብላቴናው ላይ እጅህን አታድርግ፤ ምንም ነገር አታድርግበት። አሁን እግዚአብሔርን እንደምትፈራ አውቄአለሁ፥ ልጅህን የብቻ ወንድህን ከእኔ አልከለከልህምና።
