- Exod 12:6-9 : 6 Keep it until the fourteenth day of this month. Then the whole assembly of the community of Israel shall slaughter it at twilight. 7 They shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and the lintel of the houses where they eat it. 8 They shall eat the meat that night, roasted over the fire, along with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. 9 Do not eat it raw or boiled in water, but only roasted over the fire—its head, legs, and inner parts. 10 Do not leave any of it until morning; if any is left over until morning, burn it in the fire. 11 This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the LORD's Passover. 12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt that night and strike down every firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast, and I will execute judgments against all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD. 13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are. When I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will come upon you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. 14 This day shall be a memorial for you, and you shall celebrate it as a feast to the LORD; throughout your generations, as a perpetual ordinance, you shall celebrate it. 15 For seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the first day, remove leaven from your houses, for whoever eats anything leavened from the first day until the seventh day must be cut off from Israel. 16 On the first day you shall hold a sacred assembly, and on the seventh day also a sacred assembly. No work shall be done on those days, except what each person must eat—that alone may be prepared by you. 17 You shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this very day I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt. Therefore, you shall observe this day throughout your generations as a perpetual ordinance. 18 From the evening of the fourteenth day of the first month until the evening of the twenty-first day, you shall eat unleavened bread. 19 For seven days no leaven shall be found in your houses, for whoever eats anything leavened, that person shall be cut off from the community of Israel, whether they are a foreigner or a native of the land. 20 You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your dwellings, you shall eat unleavened bread. 21 Then Moses summoned all the elders of Israel and said to them, 'Go at once and select the animals for your families and slaughter the Passover lamb.' 22 Take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and apply some of the blood to the lintel and the two doorposts. None of you shall go out of the door of your house until morning. 23 For the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians, and when He sees the blood on the lintel and the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to enter your houses to strike you. 24 You shall observe this event as a statute for you and your children forever. 25 When you enter the land that the LORD will give you as He promised, you are to observe this ceremony. 26 When your children ask you, 'What does this ceremony mean to you?' 27 You are to reply, 'It is the Passover sacrifice to the LORD, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians and spared our homes.' Then the people bowed down and worshiped. 28 The Israelites went and did just as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron. 29 At midnight, the LORD struck every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the prisoner in the dungeon, and every firstborn of the livestock. 30 Pharaoh got up during the night, along with all his officials and all the Egyptians, and there was loud wailing in Egypt, for there was no house without someone dead. 31 During the night, Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, 'Get up, leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the LORD as you have requested.' 32 'Take your flocks and herds, as you have said, and go. And also bless me.' 33 The Egyptians pressured the people to send them out of the land quickly, for they said, 'We are all going to die!' 34 So the people took their dough before it was leavened, with their kneading bowls wrapped in their clothes and carried on their shoulders. 35 The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and gold, and for clothing. 36 The LORD had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians.
- Josh 5:10 : 10 The Israelites camped at Gilgal, and on the evening of the fourteenth day of the month, on the plains of Jericho, they celebrated the Passover.
- 2 Chr 30:1-9 : 1 Hezekiah sent word to all Israel and Judah and also wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh, inviting them to come to the house of the LORD in Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover to the LORD, the God of Israel. 2 The king, his officials, and the whole assembly in Jerusalem decided to observe the Passover in the second month. 3 They could not celebrate it at the proper time because not enough priests had consecrated themselves, and the people had not gathered in Jerusalem. 4 This plan seemed right to the king and the whole assembly. 5 So they decided to send a proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, calling the people to come to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover to the LORD, the God of Israel, because it had not been observed in large numbers as prescribed. 6 Couriers went with the letters from the king and his officials throughout Israel and Judah, proclaiming the king’s command: 'Return to the LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, so that He may return to the remnant of you who have escaped from the hand of the kings of Assyria.' 7 Do not be like your ancestors and your brothers, who were unfaithful to the LORD, the God of their ancestors, so that He made them an object of horror, as you can see. 8 Now do not harden your necks as your ancestors did. Submit to the LORD; come to His sanctuary, which He has consecrated forever. Serve the LORD your God so that His fierce anger will turn away from you. 9 If you return to the LORD, your brothers and your children will be shown compassion by those who took them captive, and they will return to this land. For the LORD your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn His face from you if you return to Him. 10 The couriers went from city to city throughout the land of Ephraim and Manasseh and as far as Zebulun, but the people laughed at them and mocked them. 11 Nevertheless, some people from Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem. 12 In Judah also, the hand of God was at work to give them one heart to obey the command of the king and the officials, in accordance with the word of the LORD. 13 A very large crowd of people assembled in Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread in the second month. 14 They removed the altars in Jerusalem, as well as all the incense altars, and threw them into the Kidron Valley. 15 They slaughtered the Passover lambs on the fourteenth day of the second month. The priests and Levites, ashamed of their neglect, consecrated themselves and brought burnt offerings to the temple of the LORD. 16 Then they stood at their prescribed places, according to the Law of Moses the man of God. The priests sprinkled the blood handed to them by the Levites. 17 Since many in the assembly had not consecrated themselves, the Levites were responsible for slaughtering the Passover lambs for everyone who was not ceremonial clean to dedicate them to the LORD. 18 Although most of the people from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun had not purified themselves, they ate the Passover contrary to what was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, 'May the LORD, who is good, pardon everyone 19 who sets their heart on seeking God—the LORD, the God of their ancestors—even if they are not clean according to the rules of the sanctuary.' 20 And the LORD heard Hezekiah and healed the people. 21 The Israelites who were present in Jerusalem celebrated the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days with great joy, while the Levites and priests praised the LORD day after day with loud instruments dedicated to the LORD. 22 Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites, who showed good understanding of the service to the LORD. They ate throughout the appointed seven days, offering fellowship sacrifices and giving thanks to the LORD, the God of their ancestors. 23 The whole assembly decided to celebrate the festival for another seven days, so they celebrated joyfully for seven more days. 24 Hezekiah king of Judah contributed a thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep for the assembly, and the officials provided a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep. A large number of priests consecrated themselves. 25 The entire assembly of Judah rejoiced, along with the priests and Levites, the whole assembly from Israel, the foreigners who had come from Israel, and those who lived in Judah. 26 There was great joy in Jerusalem, for nothing like this had happened in Jerusalem since the days of Solomon son of David, king of Israel. 27 The priests and the Levites stood to bless the people, and God heard them, and their prayer reached His holy dwelling place in heaven.
