  • Gal 3:9-9 : 9 So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. 10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: 'Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.' 11 Now it is clear that no one is justified before God by the law, because, 'The righteous will live by faith.' 12 The law is not based on faith; instead, it says, 'The person who does these things will live by them.' 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: 'Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.' 14 He redeemed us so that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
  • Heb 11:8-9 : 8 By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went out to a place he was to receive as an inheritance, and he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. 10 For he was waiting for the city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God. 11 By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered Him faithful who had promised. 12 And so from one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.
  • Rom 4:1-5 : 1 What then shall we say about Abraham, our ancestor according to the flesh? 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about—but not before God. 3 What does the Scripture say? • Rom 4:16-24 : 16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, that it may be according to grace, so that it might be guaranteed to all the offspring—not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who share the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all. 17 As it is written: 'I have made you a father of many nations.' He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were. 18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, 'So shall your offspring be.' 19 And without weakening in faith, he did not consider his own body, which was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—or the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 He did not waver in unbelief concerning the promise of God, but he was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 being fully convinced that God was able to do what He had promised. 22 Therefore, it was credited to him as righteousness. 23 Now the words 'it was credited to him' were not written for his sake alone, 24 but also for us, to whom it will be credited—to those who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
