Verse 32

Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams, declares the LORD. They tell them and lead My people astray with their lies and reckless boasting. Yet I did not send or command them to do so, and they do not benefit these people at all, declares the LORD.

  • Ezek 13:7-9 : 7 Haven’t you seen a false vision and spoken a lying divination when you say, ‘Thus says the LORD,’ but I have not spoken? 8 Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: Because you have spoken falsehood and seen lies, I am against you, declares the Lord GOD. 9 My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people, nor be recorded in the register of the house of Israel, nor enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord GOD. 10 Because they have misled my people by saying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace, and because when a flimsy wall is built, they plaster it over with whitewash, 11 say to those who plaster it with whitewash that it will fall. There will be a flooding rain, hailstones will fall, and a stormy wind will break it. 12 When the wall falls, people will ask you, ‘Where is the whitewash you applied?’ 13 Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: In my wrath, I will unleash a stormy wind. In my anger, there will be flooding rain, and hailstones in fury will bring about destruction. 14 I will break down the wall that you plastered with whitewash, and bring it down to the ground so that its foundation is exposed. • Deut 13:1-9 : 1 You must carefully follow everything I am commanding you. Do not add to it or take away from it. 2 If a prophet or someone who has dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 3 and the sign or wonder he spoke to you about comes true, saying, 'Let us follow other gods, whom you have not known, and let us worship them,' 4 you must not listen to that prophet or dreamer. For the LORD your God is testing you to know whether you truly love Him with all your heart and all your soul. 5 You must follow the LORD your God, fear Him, keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him. 6 But that prophet or dreamer must be put to death, because he encouraged rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery, to lead you away from the path the LORD your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil from among you. 7 If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son or daughter, or the wife of your embrace, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, 'Let us go and worship other gods'—gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, 8 whether those gods are nearby or far away, from one end of the earth to the other— 9 do not yield to him or listen to him. Show no pity or compassion, and do not shield him. 10 Instead, you must put him to death. Your hand shall be the first against him to put him to death, and then the hand of all the people. 11 Stone him to death because he sought to turn you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 12 All Israel will hear and be afraid, and they will no longer do such wickedness among you. 13 If you hear about one of the cities the LORD your God is giving you to live in, 14 that wicked men have come out from among you and led the inhabitants of their city astray, saying, 'Let us go and worship other gods'—gods you have not known— 15 then you must inquire, investigate, and interrogate thoroughly. If the report is true and confirmed that such a detestable act has been done among you, 16 you must surely strike down the inhabitants of that city with the sword, devoting it and all that is in it, including its livestock, to complete destruction. 17 Gather all the spoil of that city into its public square and burn the city and all its plunder as a complete offering to the LORD your God. It must remain a ruin forever, never to be rebuilt. 18 Do not let any of the things set apart for destruction cling to your hand, so that the LORD will turn from His fierce anger and show you mercy, have compassion on you, and increase you, as He swore to your ancestors.

Instead, serve the king of Babylon and live. Why should this city become a ruin? 18 If they are indeed prophets and if the word of the LORD is with them, let them pray earnestly to the LORD of Hosts that the articles remaining in the house of the LORD, in the palace of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem will not be taken to Babylon. 19 For this is what the LORD of Hosts says concerning the pillars, the bronze sea, the stands, and the rest of the articles that remain in this city, 20 which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did not take when he carried Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon, along with all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem. 21 Yes, this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says about the articles that remain in the house of the LORD, in the palace of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem: 22 ‘They will be taken to Babylon and will remain there until the day I attend to them, declares the LORD.
