  • Heb 7:21-26 : 21 but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him: 'The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind: You are a priest forever.' 22 Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant. 23 Now there have been many priests since death prevented them from continuing in office; 24 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. 25 Therefore, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. 26 Such a high priest truly meets our need: one who is holy, innocent, undefiled, separate from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.
  • Heb 9:15-24 : 15 Therefore, Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that He has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. 16 For where there is a will, it must be established that the death of the one who made it has occurred. 17 For a will takes effect only when someone has died; it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive. 18 This is why even the first covenant was not inaugurated without blood. 19 For when every commandment of the law had been proclaimed by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, along with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, 20 saying, 'This is the blood of the covenant that God has commanded you to follow.' 21 In the same way, he sprinkled with the blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels used in worship. 22 Indeed, according to the Law, almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. 23 Therefore, it was necessary for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves require better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with hands, which is only a copy of the true one, but He entered heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.
