- Jer 49:23-27 : 23 Concerning Damascus: 'Hamath and Arpad are dismayed, for they have heard bad news. They melt in fear; their hearts are troubled, restless like the sea that cannot be calmed.' 24 Damascus has grown weak; she turns to flee, and trembling has seized her. Anguish and pain have gripped her like a woman in labor. 25 How is the city of praise, the city of my joy, not forsaken! 26 Therefore, her young men will fall in her streets, and all the warriors will be silenced on that day, declares the LORD of Hosts. 27 I will set fire to the wall of Damascus, and it will consume the fortified dwellings of Ben-Hadad.
- Amos 1:3-5 : 3 Thus says the LORD: 'For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not revoke punishment, because they threshed Gilead with sharp implements of iron.' 4 So I will send fire upon the house of Hazael, and it will consume the palaces of Ben-Hadad. 5 I will break the bars of Damascus, cut off the inhabitants from the Valley of Aven, and the one who holds the scepter from Beth-Eden; the people of Aram will go into exile to Kir,' says the LORD.

I myself am going.’ 22 And many peoples and strong nations will come to seek the LORD of Hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the LORD. 23 This is what the LORD of Hosts says: In those days, ten men from every language and nation will take hold of the robe of a Jewish man and say, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’

- Isa 9:8-9 : 8 All the people will know it—Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria—who say with pride and arrogance of heart: 9 The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stones; the sycamores have been cut down, but we will replace them with cedars. 10 But the LORD has strengthened Rezin’s adversaries against them and has stirred up their enemies. 11 Aram from the east and Philistia from the west have devoured Israel with open mouth. Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away; his hand is still upraised. 12 But the people have not returned to him who struck them, nor have they sought the LORD Almighty. 13 So the LORD will cut off from Israel both head and tail, both palm branch and reed in a single day. 14 The elders and dignitaries are the head; the prophets who teach lies are the tail. 15 Those who guide this people mislead them, and those who are guided by them are swallowed up. 16 Therefore, the Lord will not rejoice over their young men, nor will he have compassion on their orphans and widows, for everyone is ungodly and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. Yet for all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still stretched out. 17 For wickedness burns like a fire; it consumes briers and thorns. It sets the thickets of the forest ablaze, and they roll upward in columns of smoke. 18 By the wrath of the LORD Almighty, the land is scorched, and the people are like fuel for the fire; no one spares his brother. 19 They carve meat on the right, but they are still hungry; they devour on the left, but they are not satisfied. Each eats the flesh of his own arm. 20 Manasseh devours Ephraim, and Ephraim devours Manasseh; together they turn against Judah. Yet for all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still stretched out.
