26So there was great joy in Jerusalem; for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.

5Ought ye not to know that Jehovah, the God of Israel, gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?
2Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: as for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and for the footstool of our God; and I had made ready for the building.
1And it came to pass, when the king dwelt in his house, and Jehovah had given him rest from all his enemies round about,
25then shall there enter in by the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city shall remain for ever.
7And David dwelt in the stronghold; therefore they called it the city of David.
9There remaineth therefore a sabbath rest for the people of God.
2And David perceived that Jehovah had established him king over Israel; for his kingdom was exalted on high, for his people Israel's sake.
3And all the assembly made a covenant with the king in the house of God. And he said unto them, Behold, the king's son shall reign, as Jehovah hath spoken concerning the sons of David.
18And my people shall abide in a peaceable habitation, and in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting-places.
20And David said to all the assembly, Now bless Jehovah your God. And all the assembly blessed Jehovah, the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped Jehovah, and the king.
23And the word of Jehovah came to Jeremiah, saying,
9Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days:
30So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet; for his God gave him rest round about.
17And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever; from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.
7Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be prince over my people Israel:
45But king Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before Jehovah for ever.
