1Follow after love; yet desire earnestly spiritual [gifts], but rather that ye may prophesy.
2For he that speaketh in a tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God; for no man understandeth; but in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
3But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men edification, and exhortation, and consolation.
4He that speaketh in a tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
5Now I would have you all speak with tongues, but rather that ye should prophesy: and greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
31For ye all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be exhorted;
2And if I have [the gift of] prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
9So also ye, unless ye utter by the tongue speech easy to understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye will be speaking into the air.
10There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and no [kind] is without signification.
8For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom; and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit:
13hereby we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
15Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, be thus minded: and if in anything ye are otherwise minded, this also shall God reveal unto you:
39Wherefore, my brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
19And we have the word of prophecy [made] more sure; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts:
20knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture is of private interpretation.

13Which things also we speak, not in words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Spirit teacheth; combining spiritual things with spiritual [words] .
17Herein is love made perfect with us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as he is, even so are we in this world.
19Hereby shall we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our heart before him:
13For we write no other things unto you, than what ye read or even acknowledge, and I hope ye will acknowledge unto the end:
14as also ye did acknowledge us in part, that we are your glorying, even as ye also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.
10and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discernings of spirits; to another [divers] kinds of tongues; and to another the interpretation of tongues: [
9What knowest thou, that we know not? What understandest thou, which is not in us?
3And hereby we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
9For this cause we also, since the day we heard [it], do not cease to pray and make request for you, that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
13But we will not glory beyond [our] measure, but according to the measure of the province which God apportioned to us as a measure, to reach even unto you.
7(for we walk by faith, not by sight);
12So also ye, since ye are zealous of spiritual [gifts], seek that ye may abound unto the edifying of the church.
13Wherefore let him that speaketh in a tongue pray that he may interpret.
2Beloved, now are we children of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be. We know that, if he shall be manifested, we shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is.
6We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he who is not of God heareth us not. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
26What is it then, brethren? When ye come together, each one hath a psalm, hath a teaching, hath a revelation, hath a tongue, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
9(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, Because our days upon earth are a shadow);
24But if all prophesy, and there come in one unbelieving or unlearned, he is reproved by all, he is judged by all;
40God having provided some better thing concerning us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.
16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
