1Hear the word of Jehovah, ye children of Israel; for Jehovah hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land.

7Yea, the stork in the heavens knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle-dove and the swallow and the crane observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the law of Jehovah.
14Is Israel a servant? is he a home-born [slave] ? why is he become a prey?
4They have set up kings, but not by me; they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
5He hath cast off thy calf, O Samaria; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?
6For from Israel is even this; the workman made it, and it is no God; yea, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.

4Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people [as] they eat bread, And call not upon Jehovah?
7And my people are bent on backsliding from me: though they call them to [him that is] on high, none at all will exalt [him] .
12But they know not the thoughts of Jehovah, neither understand they his counsel; for he hath gathered them as the sheaves to the threshing-floor.
6A brutish man knoweth not; Neither doth a fool understand this:
6They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Jehovah; but they shall not find him: he hath withdrawn himself from them.

6Do ye thus requite Jehovah, O foolish people and unwise? Is not he thy father that hath bought thee? He hath made thee, and established thee.
1Hear ye the word which Jehovah speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
18And Jehovah gave me knowledge of it, and I knew it: then thou showedst me their doings.

1O Israel, return unto Jehovah thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
10Thus saith Jehovah unto this people, Even so have they loved to wander; they have not refrained their feet: therefore Jehovah doth not accept them; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.
4Thus said Jehovah my God: Feed the flock of slaughter;
19But I say, Did Israel not know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation, With a nation void of understanding will I anger you.
