25And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide, yea, and abide with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith;

4so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions which ye endure;
5[ which is] a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God; to the end that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
12So then, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
13Wherefore I ask that ye may not faint at my tribulations for you, which are your glory.

14But even if ye should suffer for righteousness' sake, blessed [are ye]: and fear not their fear, neither be troubled;
6But whether we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; or whether we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which worketh in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer:
7and our hope for you is stedfast; knowing that, as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so also are ye of the comfort.
5for your fellowship in furtherance of the gospel from the first day until now;
15that ye may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom ye are seen as lights in the world,
16holding forth the word of life; that I may have whereof to glory in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain neither labor in vain.
7for this cause, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our distress and affliction through your faith:
4Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying on your behalf: I am filled with comfort, I overflow with joy in all our affliction.
3that no man be moved by these afflictions; for yourselves know that hereunto we are appointed.
10Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
19For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I rejoice therefore over you: but I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple unto that which is evil.

11persecutions, sufferings. What things befell me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me.
7which is not another [gospel] only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
16For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
