9For ye remember, brethren, our labor and travail: working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.
10Ye are witnesses, and God [also], how holily and righteously and unblameably we behaved ourselves toward you that believe:
11as ye know how we [dealt with] each one of you, as a father with his own children, exhorting you, and encouraging [you], and testifying,
13And for this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that, when ye received from us the word of the message, [even the word] of God, ye accepted [it] not [as] the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which also worketh in you that believe.
12For our glorifying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
13For we write no other things unto you, than what ye read or even acknowledge, and I hope ye will acknowledge unto the end:
14as also ye did acknowledge us in part, that we are your glorying, even as ye also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.
15And in this confidence I was minded to come first unto you, that ye might have a second benefit;
3And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
4And my speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
6even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
3remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labor of love and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father;
4knowing, brethren beloved of God, your election,
1And I, brethren, when I came unto you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.
18But as God is faithful, our word toward you is not yea and nay.
19For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, [even] by me and Silvanus and Timothy, was not yea and nay, but in him is yea.
1Now I make known unto you brethren, the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye received, wherein also ye stand,
9not because we have not the right, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you, that ye should imitate us.
11For I make known to you, brethren, as touching the gospel which was preached by me, that it is not after man.
7for this cause, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our distress and affliction through your faith:
4For verily, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we are to suffer affliction; even as it came to pass, and ye know.
4having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have toward all the saints,
5because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,
6which is come unto you; even as it is also in all the world bearing fruit and increasing, as [it doth] in you also, since the day ye heard and knew the grace of God in truth;
5for your fellowship in furtherance of the gospel from the first day until now;
11Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest unto God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.
12We are not again commending ourselves unto you, but [speak] as giving you occasion of glorying on our behalf, that ye may have wherewith to answer them that glory in appearance, and not in heart.
3that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you also, that ye also may have fellowship with us: yea, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ:
8who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
2Ye are our epistle, written in our hearts, known and read of all men;
6But though [I be] rude in speech, yet [am I] not in knowledge; nay, in every way have we made [this] manifest unto you in all things.
1Finally then, brethren, we beseech and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that, as ye received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, even as ye do walk,--that ye abound more and more.
5and [this], not as we had hoped, but first they gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us through the will of God.
11To which end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfil every desire of goodness and [every] work of faith, with power;
22who also sealed us, and gave [us] the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
8For we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning our affliction which befell [us] in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, insomuch that we despaired even of life:
7For yourselves know how ye ought to imitate us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
