And you, son of man, take a sharp sword, use it like a razor for barbers, and pass it over your head and your beard. Then take scales to weigh and divide the hair.

A third of it you shall burn in the fire within the city when the days of the siege are completed. Then you shall take another third and strike it with the sword all around the city. And the final third you shall scatter to the wind, and I will unsheathe a sword to chase after them.

Take some small amount of the hair and bind it in the edges of your garment.

Then take some of these again, throw them into the fire, and burn them. From it, a fire will spread to all the house of Israel.

This is what the Lord GOD says: This is Jerusalem. I have set her in the center of the nations, surrounded by countries.

Men hun gjorde opprør mot mine lover mer enn nasjonene og mot mine forskrifter mer enn landene rundt henne. Mine lover avviste de, og i mine forskrifter fulgte de ikke.

But she has rebelled against My rules more wickedly than the nations and against My statutes more than the surrounding countries. They have rejected My judgments and have not walked in My statutes.

Derfor sier Herren Gud dette: Fordi dere er opprørske mer enn nasjonene rundt dere, og ikke har fulgt mine forskrifter og lover, men har handlet verre enn de andre nasjonene rundt dere.

Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: Because you are more rebellious than the surrounding nations—you have not walked in My statutes or done what My judgments demand, nor have you even lived according to the laws of the nations around you.

Derfor sier Herren Gud: Se, jeg selv er imot deg, og jeg vil utføre dommer midt iblant deg for øynene på nasjonene.

Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I Myself am against you, and I will execute judgments among you in the sight of the nations.

Because of all your abominations, I will do what I have never done before and will never do again.

Therefore, fathers will eat their sons among you, and sons will eat their fathers. I will execute judgments on you and scatter all your survivors to every wind.

Derfor, så sant jeg lever, sier Herren Gud: Fordi du har gjort mitt hellige sted urent med all din avsky og med alle dine avskyeligheter, skal jeg også trekke meg tilbake, og mitt øye skal ikke spare, og jeg vil heller ikke ha medlidenhet.

Therefore, as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, because you have defiled My sanctuary with all your detestable things and abominations, I Myself will withdraw. My eye will not spare, and I will show no pity.

En tredjedel av deg skal dø av pest og hungersnød midt i byen. En tredjedel skal falle for sverdet rundt deg. Og en tredjedel vil jeg spre til alle vinder, mens jeg trekker sverdet etter dem.

One third of you will die by plague or be consumed by famine within you. Another third will fall by the sword around you, and the final third I will scatter to every wind and pursue with a drawn sword.

Da skal min vrede bli fullført, og jeg vil vende min harme mot dem, og jeg vil få trøst. De skal vite at jeg, Herren, har talt i min nidkjærlighet når jeg har fullført min harme mot dem.

Then My anger will be fully spent, and I will satisfy My fury on them and be appeased. They will know that I, the LORD, have spoken in My zeal when I have spent My wrath upon them.

I will make you a ruin and a reproach among the nations around you, in the sight of all who pass by.

You will be a reproach, a mockery, a warning, and a horror to the nations around you when I execute judgments against you in anger, wrath, and furious rebukes! I, the LORD, have spoken.

Når jeg sender de onde piler av hungersnød blant dem, som blir til ødeleggelse, vil jeg sende dem for å ødelegge dere. Jeg vil øke hungersnøden blant dere og bryte brødets stav for dere.

When I send against you the deadly arrows of famine to destroy you, I will send more of them to destroy you and cut off your supply of bread.

I will send famine and wild beasts against you, and they will bereave you. Plague and bloodshed will sweep through you, and I will bring the sword against you. I, the LORD, have spoken.
