  • Num 32:33-42 : 33 Then Moses gave to the sons of Gad, the sons of Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan—the land with its cities and the territories surrounding them. 34 The sons of Gad built Dibon, Ataroth, and Aroer— 35 also Atroth-shophan, Jazer, and Jogbehah. 36 They also built Beth-nimrah and Beth-haran as fortified cities, and sheepfolds. 37 The sons of Reuben rebuilt Heshbon, Elealeh, and Kiriathaim— 38 as well as Nebo, Baal-meon (with their names changed), and Sibmah, and they gave new names to the cities they rebuilt. 39 The sons of Machir son of Manasseh went to Gilead, captured it, and drove out the Amorites who were there. 40 So Moses gave Gilead to Machir son of Manasseh, and he settled there. 41 Jair son of Manasseh went and captured their settlements, and he called them Havvoth-jair. 42 Nobah went and captured Kenath and its surrounding villages, and he called it Nobah after his own name.
  • Deut 3:12-17 : 12 At that time, we took possession of this land, from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Valley, and half of the hill country of Gilead with its towns, and I gave them to the Reubenites and the Gadites. 13 The rest of Gilead and all of Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to half the tribe of Manasseh. The entire region of Argob in Bashan is called the land of the Rephaim. 14 Jair, a descendant of Manasseh, took the whole region of Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites. He named the villages of Bashan after himself, calling them Havvoth Jair, and they remain so to this day. 15 I gave Gilead to Machir. 16 To the Reubenites and the Gadites I gave the land extending from Gilead to the Arnon Valley, with the valley as the border, as far as the Jabbok River, the border of the Ammonites. 17 The Arabah, the Jordan, and its border, from Chinnereth to the east side of the Dead Sea (the Sea of the Arabah), beneath the slopes of Pisgah, was also included.
  • Josh 12:1-7 : 1 Now these are the kings of the land whom the Israelites defeated and whose land they took possession of, on the east side of the Jordan, from the Arnon Valley to Mount Hermon, including all the Arabah to the east. 2 Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon, ruled from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Valley, including the middle of the valley and half of Gilead, as far as the Jabbok River, the border of the Ammonites. 3 He also ruled over the Arabah to the east, from the Sea of Kinnereth to the Salt Sea, eastward along the way to Beth Jeshimoth, and to the south at the base of the slopes of the Pisgah. 4 Og, king of Bashan, one of the last of the Rephaim, who lived in Ashtaroth and Edrei, 5 ruled Mount Hermon, Salcah, all of Bashan, up to the borders of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and half of Gilead, up to the border of Sihon, king of Heshbon. 6 Moses, the servant of the Lord, and the Israelites defeated them. And Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave their land as an inheritance to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh. 7 Now these are the kings of the land whom Joshua and the Israelites defeated on the west side of the Jordan, from Baal Gad in the valley of Lebanon to Mount Halak, rising toward Seir. Joshua gave their land to the tribes of Israel as an inheritance, according to their divisions.
  • Josh 13:1-9 : 1 Now Joshua had become old and advanced in years, and the LORD said to him, "You are old and advanced in years, and much of the land remains to be taken over." 2 This is the land that remains: all the regions of the Philistines and the entire area of the Geshurites. 3 From the Shihor River (which is near Egypt) to the northern boundary of Ekron, which is counted as part of the Canaanite land; the five rulers of the Philistines—Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath, and Ekron—and the Avvites. 4 From the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians, as far as Aphek, to the border of the Amorites. 5 The land of the Gebalites, and all of Lebanon eastward from Baal Gad below Mount Hermon, as far as the entrance of Hamath. 6 All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth-maim, including all the Sidonians—I Myself will drive them out before the Israelites. Be sure to allocate the land to Israel for an inheritance as I have commanded you. 7 Now divide this land as an inheritance for the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh. 8 The other half-tribe, along with the Reubenites and the Gadites, has already received the inheritance that Moses gave them beyond the Jordan to the east, as the servant of the LORD had assigned to them. 9 Their territory extended from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Valley, including the city in the middle of the valley, and the entire plateau from Medeba to Dibon. 10 It also included all the cities of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, up to the border of the Ammonites. 11 Additionally, it included Gilead, the territory of the Geshurites and Maachathites, all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan as far as Salcah. 12 This encompassed the entire kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei, and was the last of the Rephaim. Moses defeated them and dispossessed them. 13 However, the Israelites did not drive out the Geshurites or the Maachathites. So Geshur and Maachath continue to live among the Israelites to this day. 14 But to the tribe of Levi, Moses gave no inheritance, for the offerings made by fire to the LORD, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, as He promised. 15 Moses gave to the tribe of the Reubenites, according to their clans: 16 Their territory extended from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Valley, including the city in the middle of the valley, and the entire plateau near Medeba. 17 Heshbon and all its cities on the plain, including Dibon, Bamoth Baal, and Beth Baal Meon. 18 Also, Jahaz, Kedemoth, and Mephaath, 19 as well as Kiriathaim, Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar on the hill of the valley, 20 Beth Peor, the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth Jeshimoth. 21 All the cities on the plateau and the entire kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned at Heshbon. Moses defeated him along with the princes of Midian—Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba—who were rulers allied with Sihon and lived in the land.
  • Neh 9:22-24 : 22 You gave them kingdoms and nations, dividing them into regions. They took possession of the land of Sihon, the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og, king of Bashan. 23 You multiplied their descendants like the stars of heaven and brought them to the land You had promised their ancestors they would enter and take possession of. 24 Their descendants went in and took possession of the land. You subdued the inhabitants of the land—the Canaanites—before them and handed their kings and the peoples of the land over to them, to do with as they desired.
  • Ps 44:2-3 : 2 O God, we have heard with our ears; our ancestors have recounted to us the deeds You performed in their days, in the times of old. 3 It was by Your hand that You drove out the nations and planted our ancestors. You afflicted the peoples and sent them away.
  • Ps 78:55 : 55 He drove out nations before them and apportioned their inheritance with a measuring line; He settled the tribes of Israel in their tents.
  • Ps 105:44 : 44 He gave them the lands of the nations, and they inherited what others had worked for,
  • Ps 135:12 : 12 He gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to His people Israel.
