So Geshur and Maachath continue to live among the Israelites to this day. 14 But to the tribe of Levi, Moses gave no inheritance, for the offerings made by fire to the LORD, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, as He promised. 15 Moses gave to the tribe of the Reubenites, according to their clans: 16 Their territory extended from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Valley, including the city in the middle of the valley, and the entire plateau near Medeba. 17 Heshbon and all its cities on the plain, including Dibon, Bamoth Baal, and Beth Baal Meon. 18 Also, Jahaz, Kedemoth, and Mephaath, 19 as well as Kiriathaim, Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar on the hill of the valley, 20 Beth Peor, the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth Jeshimoth. 21 All the cities on the plateau and the entire kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned at Heshbon. Moses defeated him along with the princes of Midian—Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba—who were rulers allied with Sihon and lived in the land.
