Againe he said, Doe so againe; they did so the second time; he sayde, Doe it the third time; they did it the third time. 35 And the water ran round about the altar: and he filled the ditch with water also. 36 And when they should offer the euening sacrifice, Eliiah the Prophet came, and sayd, Lord God of Abraham, Izhak and of Israel, let it be knowen this day, that thou art the God of Israel, and that I am thy seruant, and that I haue done all these things at thy commandement. 37 Heare me, O Lorde, heare me, and let this people know that thou art the Lorde God, and that thou hast turned their heart againe at the last. 38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt offring, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked vp the water that was in the ditche. 39 And when all the people sawe it, they fell on their faces, and saide, The Lord is God, the Lord is God. 40 And Elijah said vnto them, Take the prophets of Baal, let not a man of them escape; they tooke them, and Eliiah brought them to the brooke Kishon, and slewe them there.

• Jer 13:1-9 : 1 Thus sayth the Lorde vnto mee, Goe, and buy thee a linen girdle, & put it vpon thy loynes, and put it not in water. 2 So I bought the girdle according to the commandement of the Lord, and put it vpon my loynes. 3 And the worde of the Lorde came vnto me the second time, saying, 4 Take the girdle that thou hast bought, which is vpon thy loynes, and arise, goe towarde Perath, and hide it there in the cleft of the rocke. 5 So I went, and hid it by Perath, as the Lord had commanded me. 6 And after many dayes, the Lorde sayde vnto mee, Arise, goe towarde Perath, and take the girdle from thence, which I commaunded thee to hide there. 7 Then went I to Perath, and digged, & tooke the girdle from the place where I had hid it, and behold, the girdle was corrupt, and was profitable for nothing. 8 Then the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying, 9 Thus sayth the Lord, After this maner will I destroy the pride of Iudah, and the great pride of Ierusalem. 10 This wicked people haue refused to heare my word, and walke after ye stubbernesse of their owne heart, and walke after other gods to serue them, and to worship them: therefore they shalbe as this girdle, which is profitable to nothing. 11 For as the girdle cleaueth to the loynes of a man, so haue I tied to me the whole house of Israel, and the whole house of Iudah, saith the Lorde, that they might bee my people: that they might haue a name and prayse, and glory, but they would not heare. 12 Therefore thou shalt saye vnto them this word, Thus sayth the Lorde God of Israel, Euery bottell shalbe filled with wine, and they shal say vnto thee, Doe we not knowe that euery bottell shalbe filled with wine? 13 Then shalt thou say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, euen the Kings that sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and the Priestes and the Prophets and all the inhabitantes of Ierusalem with drunkennesse. 14 And I wil dash them one against another, euen the fathers and the sonnes together, sayeth the Lord: I will not spare, I will not pitie nor haue compassion, but destroy them.

• Ezek 15:1-8 : 1 And ye word of ye Lord came vnto me, saying, 2 Sonne of man, what commeth of the vine tree aboue all other trees? and of the vine braunch, which is among the trees of ye forest? 3 Shall wood bee taken thereof to doe any worke? or wil men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon? 4 Behold, it is cast in the fire to be consumed: the fire consumeth both the endes of it, and the middes of it is burnt. Is it meete for any worke? 5 Behold, when it was whole, it was meete for no worke: how much lesse shall it bee meete for any worke, when the fire hath consumed it, and it is burnt? 6 Therefore thus sayth the Lorde God, As the vine tree, that is among the trees of the forest, which I haue giuen to the fire to be consumed, so will I giue the inhabitants of Ierusalem. 7 And I will set my face against them: they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall consume them: and ye shall know, that I am the Lord, when I set my face against them, 8 And when I make the lande waste, because they haue greatly offended, saith the Lord God.
• Hos 1:2-5 : 2 At the beginning the Lorde spake by Hosea, and the Lord said vnto Hosea, Goe, take vnto thee a wife of fornicatios, and children of fornications: for the lande hath committed great whoredome, departing from the Lord. 3 So he went, & tooke Gomer, ye daughter of Diblaim, which conceiued & bare him a sonne. 4 And the Lord said vnto him, Cal his name Izreel: for yet a litle, and I will visite the blood of Izreel vpon the house of Iehu, and will cause to cease the kingdome of the house of Israel. 5 And at that day will I also breake the bowe of Israel in the valley of Izreel.
