1 Is there not an appointed time to man vpon earth? and are not his dayes as the dayes of an hyreling?
3 So haue I had as an inheritance the moneths of vanitie, and painefull nights haue bene appointed vnto me.
4 If I layed me downe, I sayde, When shall I arise? and measuring the euening I am euen full with tossing to and fro vnto the dawning of the day.

20 Therefore I went about to make mine heart abhorre all the labour, wherein I had trauailed vnder the sunne.
21 For there is a man whose trauaile is in wisdome, and in knowledge and in equitie: yet to a man that hath not trauailed herein, shal he giue his portion: this also is vanitie and a great griefe.
22 For what hath man of all his trauaile and griefe of his heart, wherein he hath trauailed vnder the sunne?
23 For all his dayes are sorowes, and his trauaile griefe: his heart also taketh not rest in the night: which also is vanitie.
7 And now Lord, what wait I for? mine hope is euen in thee.

13 Oh that thou wouldest hide me in the graue, and keepe me secret, vntill thy wrath were past, and wouldest giue me terme, and remember me.
23 He wandreth to and fro for bread where he may: he knoweth that the day of darkenesse is prepared at hande.
40 But as an hired seruant, and as a soiourner he shalbe with thee: he shall serue thee vnto the yeere of the Iubile.

9 The sight of ye eye is better then to walke in ye lustes: this also is vanitie, & vexation of spirit.

17 Therefore I hated life: for the worke that is wrought vnder the sunne is grieuous vnto me: for all is vanitie, and vexation of the spirit.
15 For we are stragers before thee, & soiourners, like all our fathers: our dayes are like ye shadowe vpon the earth, & there is none abiding.
13 If I did contemne the iudgement of my seruant, and of my mayde, when they did contend with me,
20 Be not carefull in the night, howe he destroyeth the people out of their place.

11 Then I looked on all my workes that mine hands had wrought, and on the trauaile that I had laboured to doe: and beholde, all is vanitie and vexation of the spirit: and there is no profite vnder the sunne.

23 Then goeth man forth to his worke, and to his labour vntill the euening.
12 (7:2) For who knoweth what is good for man in the life and in the nomber of the dayes of the life of his vanitie, seeing he maketh them as a shadowe? For who can shewe vnto man what shall be after him vnder the sunne?
20 Are not my dayes fewe? let him cease, and leaue off from me, that I may take a litle comfort,
