6 Now among these were of the children of Juh, niel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:
7 Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto niel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abed-nego.
8 But niel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
9 Now God had brought niel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.
10 And the prince of the eunuchs said unto niel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me ennger my head to the king.
11 Then said niel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over niel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,
12 Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten ys; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.
13 Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.
4 When he shewed the rich of his glorious kingdom and the honour of his excellent majty many days, even an hundred and fourscore days.
5 And when the days were expired, the king made a feast unto all the people that were prent in Shushan the palace, both unto great and small, seven days, in the court of the garden of the king's palace;

3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
10 On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that served in the prence of Ahasuerus the king,
16 Then niel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.
7 And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the LORD came unto emiah.
12 Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king's decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty ys, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
13 Then answered they and said before the king, That niel, which is of the children of the captivity of Juh, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a y.
14 Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on niel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.
21 And the saying pleased the king and the princ; and the king did according to the word of Memucan:
7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellers, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty ys, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
23 And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days: and they kept other seven days with gladness.
21 To stablish this among them, that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, yearly,
7 And they gave them drink in vsels of gold, (the vsels being diverse one from another,) and royal wine in abundance, according to the state of the king.

8 And that whosoever would not come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the congregation of those that had been carried away.
2 Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, Let there be fair young virgins sought for the king:
10 And thy meat which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time shalt thou eat it.
4 And let the maiden which pleaseth the king be queen instead of Vashti. And the thing pleased the king; and he did so.

18 Now that which was prepared for me daily was o ox and six choice sheep; also fowls were prepared for me, and once in ten days store of all sorts of wi: yet for all this required not I the bread of the governor, because the bondage was heavy upon this people.
34 And for his diet, there was a continual diet given him of the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
30 And his allowance was a continual allowance given him of the king, a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life.
