20This we will do to them; we will even let them live, lest wrath be upon us, because of the oath which we sware unto them.
1And it came to pass, when all the kings which were on this side Jordan, in the hills, and in the valleys, and in all the coasts of the great sea over against Lebanon, the Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard thereof;
2That they gathered themselves together, to fight with hua and with Israel, with one accord.
3And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what hua had done unto Jericho and to Ai,

10And ye shall dwell with us: and the land shall be before you; dwell and trade ye therein, and t you possessions therein.
5And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,
12And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, spake hua, saying,
13And it came to pass, when hua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and hua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?
10Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.
16Then will we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.
22And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come.
6And the men of Gibeon sent unto hua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.
