1

A Psalm of Asaph. The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken{H8765)}, and called{H8799)} the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

2

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined{H8689)}.

3

Our God shall come{H8799)}, and shall not keep silence{H8799)}: a fire shall devour{H8799)} before him, and it shall be very tempestuous{H8738)} round about him.

4

He shall call{H8799)} to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge{H8800)} his people.

5

Gather{H8798)} my saints together unto me; those that have made{H8802)} a covenant with me by sacrifice.

6

And the heavens shall declare{H8686)} his righteousness: for God is judge{H8802)} himself. Selah.

7

Hear{H8798)}, O my people, and I will speak{H8762)}; O Israel, and I will testify{H8686)} against thee: I am God, even thy God.

8

I will not reprove{H8686)} thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.

9

I will take{H8799)} no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

10

For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

11

I know{H8804)} all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.

12

If I were hungry{H8799)}, I would not tell{H8799)} thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

13

Will I eat{H8799)} the flesh of bulls, or drink{H8799)} the blood of goats?

14

Offer{H8798)} unto God thanksgiving; and pay{H8761)} thy vows unto the most High:

15

And call{H8798)} upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver{H8762)} thee, and thou shalt glorify{H8762)} me.

16

But unto the wicked God saith{H8804)}, What hast thou to do to declare{H8763)} my statutes, or that thou shouldest take{H8799)} my covenant in thy mouth?

17

Seeing thou hatest{H8804)} instruction, and castest{H8686)} my words behind thee.

18

When thou sawest{H8804)} a thief, then thou consentedst{H8799)} with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers{H8764)}.

19

Thou givest{H8804)} thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth{H8686)} deceit.

20

Thou sittest{H8799)} and speakest{H8762)} against thy brother; thou{H8799)} slanderest thine own mother's son.

21

These things hast thou done{H8804)}, and I kept silence{H8689)}; thou thoughtest{H8765)} that I was altogether{H8800)} such an one as thyself: but I will reprove{H8686)} thee, and set them in order{H8799)} before thine eyes.

22

Now consider{H8798)} this, ye that forget{H8802)} God, lest I tear you in pieces{H8799)}, and there be none to deliver{H8688)}.

23

Whoso offereth{H8802)} praise glorifieth{H8762)} me: and to him that ordereth{H8804)} his conversation aright will I shew{H8686)} the salvation of God.
