1

To the chief Musician{H8764)} upon Jonathelemrechokim, Michtam of David, when the Philistines took{H8800)} him in Gath. Be merciful{H8798)} unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up{H8804)}; he fighting{H8802)} daily oppresseth{H8799)} me.

2

Mine enemies{H8802)} would daily swallow{H8804)} me up: for they be many that fight{H8802)} against me, O thou most High.

3

What time I am afraid{H8799)}, I will trust{H8799)} in thee.

4

In God I will praise{H8762)} his word, in God I have put my trust{H8804)}; I will not fear{H8799)} what flesh can do{H8799)} unto me.

5

Every day they wrest{H8762)} my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.

6

They gather themselves together{H8799)}, they hide{H8799)}{H8675)}{H8686)} themselves, they mark{H8799)} my steps, when they wait{H8765)} for my soul.

7

Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down{H8685)} the people, O God.

8

Thou tellest{H8804)} my wanderings: put{H8798)} thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?

9

When I cry{H8799)} unto thee, then shall mine enemies{H8802)} turn{H8799)} back: this I know{H8804)}; for God is for me.

10

In God will I praise{H8762)} his word: in the LORD will I praise{H8762)} his word.

11

In God have I put my trust{H8804)}: I will not be afraid{H8799)} what man can do{H8799)} unto me.

12

Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render{H8762)} praises unto thee.

13

For thou hast delivered{H8689)} my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk{H8692)} before God in the light of the living?
