Attend{H8685)} unto me, and hear{H8798)} me: I mourn{H8686)} in my complaint, and make a noise{H8686)};

Because of the voice of the enemy{H8802)}, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast{H8686)} iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate{H8799)} me.

My heart is sore pained{H8799)} within me: and the terrors of death are fallen{H8804)} upon me.

Fearfulness and trembling are come{H8799)} upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed{H8762)} me.

And I said{H8799)}, Oh that{H8799)} I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away{H8799)}, and be at rest{H8799)}.

Lo, then would I wander{H8800)} far off{H8686)}, and remain{H8799)} in the wilderness. Selah.

I would hasten{H8686)} my escape from the windy storm{H8801)} and tempest.

Destroy{H8761)}, O Lord, and divide{H8761)} their tongues: for I have seen{H8804)} violence and strife in the city.

Day and night they go about{H8779)} it upon the walls thereof: mischief also and sorrow are in the midst of it.

Wickedness is in the midst thereof: deceit and guile depart{H8686)} not from her streets.

For it was not an enemy{H8802)} that reproached{H8762)} me; then I could have borne{H8799)} it: neither was it he that hated{H8764)} me that did magnify{H8689)} himself against me; then I would have hid{H8735)} myself from him:

But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance{H8794)}.

We took sweet{H8686)} counsel together, and walked{H8762)} unto the house of God in company.

Let death seize{H8686)}{H8675)} upon them, and let them go down{H8799)} quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.

As for me, I will call{H8799)} upon God; and the LORD shall save{H8686)} me.

Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray{H8799)}, and cry aloud{H8799)}: and he shall hear{H8799)} my voice.

He hath delivered{H8804)} my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.

God shall hear{H8799)}, and afflict{H8799)} them, even he that abideth{H8802)} of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear{H8804)} not God.

He hath put forth{H8804)} his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken{H8765)} his covenant.

The words of his mouth were smoother{H8804)} than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer{H8804)} than oil, yet were they drawn swords.

Cast{H8685)} thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain{H8770)} thee: he shall never suffer{H8799)} the righteous to be moved{H8800)}.

But thou, O God, shalt bring them down{H8686)} into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half{H8799)} their days; but I will trust{H8799)} in thee.
