And it came to pass, that in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD,

8 Nevertheless they shall be his servants, that they may know my service and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.
9 So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD and the treasures of the king's house; he took all; he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made.
10 In their place, King Rehoboam made shields of brass and committed them to the hands of the chief of the guard, who kept the entrance of the king's house.
11 And whenever the king entered the house of the LORD, the guard came and fetched them and brought them back into the guard chamber.
12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him, that he would not destroy him completely; and also conditions improved in Judah.

3 Speak to Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
40 Solomon therefore sought to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.
12 So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, Come to me again the third day.
21 And when Rehoboam came to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah with the tribe of Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand chosen men, who were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom back to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.
22 But the word of God came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
7 For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, who had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods.
17 But as for the children of Israel who dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.
41 And it was told Solomon that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath, and had come back.
14 And he did evil because he did not prepare his heart to seek the LORD.
12 So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam on the third day, as the king had said, Come again to me on the third day.

9 In the fourth year of King Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria and besieged it.
1 In the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah, Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the fortified cities of Judah and took them.
3 And it came to pass in the eighteenth year of King Josiah, that the king sent Shaphan, the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of the LORD, saying,
21 For he ripped Israel from the house of David; they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king, and Jeroboam drove Israel from following the LORD, and made them commit a great sin.
15 Therefore the king did not listen to the people, for the cause was from the LORD, that he might perform His word, which the LORD spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
16 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David; and Abijah his son reigned in his place.
28 And it was so, when the king went into the house of the LORD, that the guard carried them, and brought them back into the guard chamber.
16 And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who sinned, and who made Israel to sin.
17 But as for the children of Israel who dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.

5 And he said to them, Depart for three days, then come again to me. And the people departed.
39 And it happened at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei ran away to Achish son of Maachah king of Gath. And they told Shimei, saying, Behold, your servants are in Gath.
