8The Lord has purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: He has stretched out a line, He has not withdrawn His hand from destroying: therefore He made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together.
14So will I break down the wall that you have daubed with untempered mortar, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and you shall be consumed in its midst; and you shall know that I am the LORD.
15Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall and upon those who daubed it with untempered mortar, and will say to you, 'The wall is no more, nor are those who daubed it.'
8Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
1The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem, and the pastures of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
3Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Amend your ways and your deeds, and I will allow you to dwell in this place.
13And I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.
12Surely, when the wall has fallen, will it not be said to you, 'Where is the daubing with which you have daubed it?'
8Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
6For the Lord has said to me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he sees.
11In the day that your walls are to be built, in that day shall the decree be removed far away.
1I saw the Lord standing upon the altar, and he said, Strike the lintel of the door, that the posts may shake; and cut them in the head, all of them. I will slay the last of them with the sword; he who flees from them shall not flee away, and he who escapes of them shall not be delivered.
21And this house, which is exalted, shall be an astonishment to everyone who passes by it; so that they will say, Why has the LORD done this to this land and to this house?
20Then the LORD showed me four craftsmen.
