After these things, King Ahasuerus promoted Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes who were with him.

    3Then the king's servants who were in the king's gate said to Mordecai, "Why do you transgress the king's commandment?"

    7In the first month, which is the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of King Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, which is the month Adar.

    8And Haman said to King Ahasuerus, "There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of your kingdom; and their laws are different from all people; neither do they keep the king's laws. Therefore, it is not profitable for the king to tolerate them."

    10So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king's anger subsided.

    13And Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends everything that had happened to him. Then his wise men and Zeresh his wife said to him, If Mordecai is of the seed of the Jews, before whom you have begun to fall, you shall not prevail against him, but shall surely fall before him.

    14And while they were still talking with him, the king's chamberlains came, and hurried to bring Haman to the banquet that Esther had prepared.
