And he spoke to him yet again and said, Suppose there should be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for the sake of forty.

24 Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city; will you also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are within it?
25 Far be it from you to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from you! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
26 And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.
27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord, who am but dust and ashes.
28 Suppose there should lack five of the fifty righteous; will you destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find forty-five there, I will not destroy it.
16 And while he lingered, the men grabbed his hand, his wife's hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the LORD being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city.
17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them out, that he said, Escape for your life; do not look behind you, nor stay anywhere in the plain; escape to the mountains, lest you be consumed.
18 And Lot said to them, Oh, not so, my Lord.
19 Behold now, your servant has found grace in your sight, and you have magnified your mercy, which you have shown to me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil overtake me and I die.
20 Look now, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape there, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
21 And he said to him, See, I have accepted you in this matter also, that I will not overthrow this city for which you have spoken.
22 Hurry, escape there; for I cannot do anything until you arrive there. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing;
9 Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we do not perish?
10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented of the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.
3 The LORD repented for this: It shall not be, says the LORD.
28 And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and he saw, and behold, the smoke of the land went up like the smoke of a furnace.
29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the middle of the upheaval, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot dwelt.
7 And said, I pray you, brothers, do not do so wickedly.
25 So I fell down before the LORD forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the first; because the LORD had said he would destroy you.
30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
11 And should I not spare Nineveh, that great city, where there are more than one hundred twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?
4 And Jonah began to enter into the city, a day's journey, and he cried out, saying, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
39 And I said to my master, 'Perhaps the woman will not follow me.'
13 For we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD has sent us to destroy it.
3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favor in your sight, do not pass away, I pray you, from your servant.

40 As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring cities, says the LORD; so shall no man dwell there, neither shall any son of man live there.
10 If it does evil in my sight, so that it does not obey my voice, then I will relent of the good with which I said I would benefit them.
8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turns from their evil, I will relent of the evil that I thought to do to them.
5 Once have I spoken, but I will not answer; yea, twice, but I will proceed no further.
