  • 2 Sam 7:18-25 : 18 Then King David went in and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that you have brought me this far? 19 And this was yet a small thing in your sight, O Lord GOD; but you have spoken also of your servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD? 20 And what can David say more to you? for you, Lord GOD, know your servant. 21 For your word's sake, and according to your own heart, you have done all these great things, to make your servant know them. 22 Therefore you are great, O LORD God: for there is none like you, neither is there any God beside you, according to all that we have heard with our ears. 23 And what nation in the earth is like your people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, to make him a name, and to do for you great and awesome things for your land, before your people, which you redeemed to yourself from Egypt, from the nations and their gods? 24 For you have confirmed to yourself your people Israel to be a people unto you forever: and you, LORD, have become their God. 25 And now, O LORD God, the word that you have spoken concerning your servant and concerning his house, establish it forever, and do as you have said.

And Jeremiah said, The word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum your uncle shall come to you, saying, Buy my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is yours to buy it.

So Hanameel my uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said to me, Please buy my field that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is yours, and the redemption is yours; buy it for yourself. Then I knew this was the word of the LORD.

And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, seventeen shekels of silver.

And I signed the document, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.

So I took the document of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the law and custom, and that which was open:

And I gave the evidence of the purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel my uncle's son, and in the presence of the witnesses who signed the deed of the purchase, before all the Jews who sat in the court of the prison.

And I charged Baruch before them, saying,

Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these documents, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may last many days.

For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.
