Should you not walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the nations, our enemies? 10 I likewise, and my brethren and my servants, could demand money and grain from them. I pray you, let us stop this interest. 11 Restore to them, I pray you, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their olive groves, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, the grain, the new wine, and the olive oil, that you are charging them. 12 Then they said, We will restore them, and will require nothing from them; we will do as you say. Then I called the priests and required an oath from them that they would do according to this promise. 13 I also shook out the fold of my garment and said, So may God shake out every man from his house and from his labor who does not keep this promise. Even so may he be shaken out and emptied. And all the assembly said, Amen, and praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise.

    17Therefore thus says the LORD: You have not listened to me in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbor; behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, says the LORD, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.
