Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall never lack a man to stand before me forever.

9Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: nor have vineyard, nor field, nor seed:
10But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
12Then came the word of the LORD to Jeremiah, saying,
13Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will you not receive instruction to listen to my words? says the LORD.
14The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for to this day they drink none, but obey their father's commandment: yet I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking; but you have not listened to me.
17For thus says the LORD: David shall never lack a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
18Neither shall the priests, the Levites, lack a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle grain offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.
19And the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,
1The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD during the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying,
2Go to the house of the Rechabites, and speak to them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.
3Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brothers, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
18Then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, as I have covenanted with David your father, saying, You shall not fail to have a man to be ruler in Israel.
30Thus says the LORD, Write this man childless, a man who shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his descendants shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling anymore in Judah.
23Moreover, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,
5Then I will establish the throne of your kingdom upon Israel forever, as I promised to David your father, saying, There shall not fail you a man upon the throne of Israel.
15And when he had departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he greeted him, and said to him, Is your heart right, as my heart is with your heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it is, give me your hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.
36If those ordinances depart from before me, says the LORD, then the descendants of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me forever.
20But Judah shall abide forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
4That the Lord may continue His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, If your children take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail you a man on the throne of Israel.
12Therefore the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
21As for me, this is my covenant with them, says the Lord: My Spirit that is upon you, and my words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of your descendants, nor out of the mouth of the descendants of your descendants, says the Lord, from this time forth and forever.
16Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father what you have promised him, saying, There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that your children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as you have walked before me.
28And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at your hand to drink, then you shall say to them, Thus says the LORD of hosts; You shall certainly drink.
31For the Lord will not cast off forever:
15Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all her towns all the disaster that I have pronounced against it, because they have hardened their necks, that they might not hear my words.
30Therefore thus says the LORD of Jehoiakim king of Judah: He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David, and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.
3And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the remnant of those that remain of this evil family, who remain in all the places where I have driven them, says the LORD of hosts.
4Moreover you shall say to them, Thus says the LORD; Shall they fall and not rise? Shall he turn away and not return?
11But now I will not be to the remnant of this people as in the former days, says the LORD of hosts.
19Yet the LORD would not destroy Judah for David his servant's sake, as he promised him to give him always a light, and to his children.
25Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father what you promised him, saying, There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; if only your children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as you have walked before me.
31Behold, the days are coming, that I will cut off your strength, and the strength of your father's house, so that there will not be an old man in your house.
32And you shall see an enemy in my habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel: and there shall not be an old man in your house forever.
23And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said to the worshippers of Baal, Search and see that none of the servants of the LORD are here with you, but only the worshippers of Baal.
21Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the men of Anathoth, who seek your life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the LORD, that you die not by our hand:
22For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, says the LORD, so shall your descendants and your name remain.
39And I will for this afflict the offspring of David, but not forever.
5Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests and in the presence of all the people that stood in the house of the LORD,
1The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
3And say to them, Thus says the LORD God of Israel: Cursed is the man who does not obey the words of this covenant,
7However, the LORD would not destroy the house of David because of the covenant He had made with David, and as He promised to give a lamp to him and to his sons forever.
31Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
18Nevertheless in those days, says the LORD, I will not make a complete end with you.
