  • Deut 33:1-9 : 1 And this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death. 2 And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir to them; he shined forth from Mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them. 3 Indeed, he loved the people; all his saints are in your hand: and they sit down at your feet; every one shall receive of your words. 4 Moses commanded us a law, even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob. 5 And he was king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people and the tribes of Israel were gathered together. 6 Let Reuben live, and not die; and let not his men be few. 7 And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him to his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be a help to him from his enemies. 8 And of Levi he said, Let your Thummim and your Urim be with your holy one, whom you tried at Massah, and with whom you contended at the waters of Meribah; 9 Who said to his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither did he acknowledge his brothers, nor knew his own children: for they have observed your word, and kept your covenant. 10 They shall teach Jacob your judgments, and Israel your law: they shall put incense before you, and whole burnt sacrifice upon your altar. 11 Bless, LORD, his substance, and accept the work of his hands: strike through the loins of those that rise against him, and of those that hate him, that they rise not again. 12 And of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him; and the LORD shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders. 13 And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the LORD be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that crouches beneath, 14 And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon, 15 And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills, 16 And for the precious things of the earth and fullness thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brothers. 17 His glory is like the firstborn of his bull, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh. 18 And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out; and, Issachar, in your tents. 19 They shall call the people to the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness: for they shall partake of the abundance of the seas, and of treasures hidden in the sand. 20 And of Gad he said, Blessed be he who enlarges Gad: he dwells as a lion, and tears the arm with the crown of the head. 21 And he provided the first part for himself, because there, in a portion of the lawgiver, he was settled; and he came with the heads of the people, he executed the justice of the LORD, and his judgments with Israel. 22 And of Dan he said, Dan is a lion's cub: he shall leap from Bashan. 23 And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favor, and full with the blessing of the LORD: possess the west and the south. 24 And of Asher he said, Let Asher be blessed with children; let him be acceptable to his brothers, and let him dip his foot in oil. 25 Your shoes shall be iron and bronze; and as your days, so shall your strength be. 26 There is none like the God of Jeshurun, who rides upon the heavens to help you, and in his majesty on the sky. 27 The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall drive out the enemy from before you; and shall say, Destroy them. 28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be on a land of grain and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew. 29 Happy are you, O Israel: who is like you, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of your help, and who is the sword of your majesty! And your enemies shall be found liars to you; and you shall tread upon their high places.

Rachel said, "Therefore, he shall lie with you tonight for your son's mandrakes." 16 Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him and said, "You must come to me, for surely I have hired you with my son's mandrakes." • Gen 49:1-9 : 1 And Jacob called to his sons and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you what shall happen to you in the last days. 2 Gather yourselves together, and hear, you sons of Jacob, and listen to Israel your father. 3 Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power. 4 Unstable as water, you shall not excel, because you went up to your father's bed; then you defiled it: he went up to my couch. 5 Simeon and Levi are brothers; instruments of cruelty are in their dwellings. 6 O my soul, do not come into their secret; to their assembly, my honor, do not be united: for in their anger they killed a man, and in their self-will they tore down a wall. 7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob and scatter them in Israel. 8 Judah, you are he whom your brothers shall praise: your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; your father's children shall bow down before you. 9 Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, you have gone up: he stooped down, he crouched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up? 10 The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh comes; and to him shall the gathering of the people be. 11 Binding his foal to the vine, and his donkey's colt to the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes. 12 His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk. 13 Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be a haven for ships; and his border shall be to Zidon. 14 Issachar is a strong donkey lying down between two burdens. 15 And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant to tribute. 16 Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. 17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, a viper in the path, that bites the horse's heels, so that his rider shall fall backward. 18 I have waited for your salvation, O LORD. 19 Gad, a troop shall overcome him, but he shall overcome at the last. 20 Out of Asher his bread shall be rich, and he shall yield royal delicacies. 21 Naphtali is a deer let loose: he gives goodly words. 22 Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall. 23 The archers have severely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him. 24 But his bow remained in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from there is the shepherd, the stone of Israel.) 25 By the God of your father, who shall help you; and by the Almighty, who shall bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lies beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb. 26 The blessings of your father have prevailed above the blessings of my ancestors to the utmost bounds of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers. 27 Benjamin shall ravage as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil. 28 All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father spoke to them and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them. 29 And he charged them, and said to them, I am to be gathered to my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite, 30 In the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a burial place. 31 There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah. 32 The purchase of the field and of the cave that is therein was from the children of Heth. 33 And when Jacob had finished commanding his sons, he drew up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the spirit, and was gathered to his people.
