5But we did not surrender to them even for a moment, in order that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.
7Now we pray to God that you may not do anything wrong, not so that we may appear to have passed the test, but so that you may do what is right even if we may appear to have failed the test.
1So get rid of all evil and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.
19Have you been thinking all this time that we have been defending ourselves to you? We are speaking in Christ before God, and everything we do, dear friends, is to build you up.

3For we too were once foolish, disobedient, misled, enslaved to various passions and desires, spending our lives in evil and envy, hateful and hating one another.

12Therefore, since we have such a hope, we behave with great boldness,
8This persuasion does not come from the one who calls you!
18Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to conduct ourselves rightly in every respect.
