12 Jehoram received this letter from Elijah the prophet:“This is what the LORD God of your ancestor David says:‘You have not followed in the footsteps of your father Jehoshaphat and of King Asa of Judah,

Such a disgusting practice was not something I commanded them to do! It never even entered my mind to command them to do such a thing! So Judah is certainly liable for punishment.’
14 All the leaders of the priests and people became more unfaithful and committed the same horrible sins practiced by the nations. They defiled the LORD’s temple which he had consecrated in Jerusalem.
