14And I said,“Ah, Sovereign LORD, I have never been ceremonially defiled before. I have never eaten a carcass or an animal torn by wild beasts; from my youth up, unclean meat has never entered my mouth.”
26But Peter helped him up, saying,“Stand up. I too am a mere mortal.”
27Peter continued talking with him as he went in, and he found many people gathered together.
28He said to them,“You know that it is unlawful for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile, yet God has shown me that I should call no person defiled or ritually unclean.
29Therefore when you sent for me, I came without any objection. Now may I ask why you sent for me?”
30Cornelius replied,“Four days ago at this very hour, at three o’clock in the afternoon, I was praying in my house, and suddenly a man in shining clothing stood before me
31and said,‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your acts of charity have been remembered before God.
14I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean in itself; still, it is unclean to the one who considers it unclean.
11What defiles a person is not what goes into the mouth; it is what comes out of the mouth that defiles a person.”
18He said to them,“Are you so foolish? Don’t you understand that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him?
19For it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and then goes out into the sewer.”(This means all foods are clean.)

14I have not eaten anything when I was in mourning, or removed any of it while ceremonially unclean, or offered any of it to the dead; I have obeyed you and have done everything you have commanded me.
20These are the things that defile a person; it is not eating with unwashed hands that defiles a person.”
7I have refused to touch such things; they are like loathsome food to me.
4Staring at him and becoming greatly afraid, Cornelius replied,“What is it, Lord?” The angel said to him,“Your prayers and your acts of charity have gone up as a memorial before God.

9Simon Peter said to him,“Lord, wash not only my feet, but also my hands and my head!”
