5And have you forgotten the exhortation addressed to you as sons?“My son, do not scorn the Lord’s discipline or give up when he corrects you.

3So he humbled you by making you hungry and then feeding you with unfamiliar manna. He did this to teach you that humankind cannot live by bread alone, but also by everything that comes from the LORD’s mouth.
4Your clothing did not wear out nor did your feet swell all these forty years.
11My child, do not despise discipline from the LORD, and do not loathe his rebuke.
12For the LORD disciplines those he loves, just as a father disciplines the son in whom he delights.
6So you must keep his commandments, live according to his standards, and revere him.
31and in the wilderness, where you saw him carrying you along like a man carries his son. This he did everywhere you went until you came to this very place.”

1The Results of Covenant Reaffirmation“When you have experienced all these things, both the blessings and the curses I have set before you, you will reflect upon them in all the nations where the LORD your God has banished you.
18Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the LORD your God redeemed you from there; therefore I am commanding you to do all this.
28Pay careful attention to all these things I am commanding you so that it may always go well with you and your children after you when you do what is good and right in the sight of the LORD your God.
2and that you may so revere the LORD your God that you will keep all his statutes and commandments that I am giving you– you, your children, and your grandchildren– all your lives, to prolong your days.
15Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt and the LORD your God redeemed you; therefore, I am commanding you to do this thing today.
18You must remember the LORD your God, for he is the one who gives ability to get wealth; if you do this he will confirm his covenant that he made by oath to your ancestors, even as he has to this day.
1Exhortations to Seek Wisdom and Walk with the Lord My child, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments,
8You will return and obey the LORD, keeping all his commandments I am giving you today.
1Admonition to Follow Righteousness and Avoid Wickedness Listen, children, to a father’s instruction, and pay attention so that you may gain discernment.
11Exhortation to Remember That Blessing Comes from God Be sure you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping his commandments, ordinances, and statutes that I am giving you today.
8Now then, my son, do exactly what I tell you!
12Furthermore, remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and so be careful to observe these statutes.
