Bear in mind today that I am not speaking to your children who have not personally experienced the judgments of the LORD your God, which revealed his greatness, strength, and power.

    8The Abundance of the Land of Promise Now pay attention to all the commandments I am giving you today, so that you may be strong enough to enter and possess the land where you are headed,

    16The Results of Disobedience“(For you know how we lived in the land of Egypt and how we crossed through the nations as we traveled.

    17Then the anger of the LORD will erupt against you and he will close up the sky so that it does not rain. The land will not yield its produce, and you will soon be removed from the good land that the LORD is about to give you.

    18Fix these words of mine into your mind and being, and tie them as a reminder on your hands and let them be symbols on your forehead.

    19Teach them to your children and speak of them as you sit in your house, as you walk along the road, as you lie down, and as you get up.

  • 13Now, if you pay close attention to my commandments that I am giving you today and love the LORD your God and serve him with all your mind and being,

  • 1Every Effect has its Cause Listen, you Israelites, to this message which the LORD is proclaiming against you! This message is for the entire clan I brought up from the land of Egypt:

  • 8You are to tell your son on that day,‘It is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.’

  • 10He said,“See, I am going to make a covenant before all your people. I will do wonders such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation. All the people among whom you live will see the work of the LORD, for it is a fearful thing that I am doing with you.

  • 8Therefore the LORD brought us out of Egypt with tremendous strength and power, as well as with great awe-inspiring signs and wonders.
