32‘I am the God of your forefathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.’ Moses began to tremble and did not dare to look more closely.
33But the Lord said to him,‘Take the sandals off your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.
2Be prepared in the morning, and go up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and station yourself for me there on the top of the mountain.
3No one is to come up with you; do not let anyone be seen anywhere on the mountain; not even the flocks or the herds may graze in front of that mountain.”
5The LORD descended in the cloud and stood with him there and proclaimed the LORD by name.
11The LORD said,“Go out and stand on the mountain before the LORD. Look, the LORD is ready to pass by.”A very powerful wind went before the LORD, digging into the mountain and causing landslides, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the windstorm there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake.
5He will surely give me shelter in the day of danger; he will hide me in his home; he will place me on an inaccessible rocky summit.
7Then the LORD spoke to Moses:

17The LORD said to Moses,“I will do this thing also that you have requested, for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.”
18And Moses said,“Show me your glory.”

12The LORD said to Moses,“Come up to me on the mountain and remain there, and I will give you the stone tablets with the law and the commandments that I have written, so that you may teach them.”

24‘You must make for me an altar made of earth, and you will sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your cattle. In every place where I cause my name to be honored I will come to you and I will bless you.
16This is the person who will live in a secure place; he will find safety in the rocky, mountain strongholds; he will have food and a constant supply of water.
21The people kept their distance, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was.
22The Altar The LORD said to Moses:“Thus you will tell the Israelites:‘You yourselves have seen that I have spoken with you from heaven.
2The LORD is my high ridge, my stronghold, my deliverer. My God is my rocky summit where I take shelter, my shield, the horn that saves me, and my refuge.
13and the LORD stood at its top. He said,“I am the LORD, the God of your grandfather Abraham and the God of your father Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the ground you are lying on.
16‘What right do you have to be here? What relatives do you have buried here? Why do you chisel out a tomb for yourself here? He chisels out his burial site in an elevated place, he carves out his tomb on a cliff.
9On the flinty rock man has set to work with his hand; he has overturned mountains at their bases.
8So Moses said to them,“Remain here and I will hear what the LORD will command concerning you.”
21Then he looked on the Kenites and uttered this oracle:“Your dwelling place seems strong, and your nest is set on a rocky cliff.

22I will meet with you there, and from above the atonement lid, from between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will command you for the Israelites.
