1The Temptation and the Fall Now the serpent was more shrewd than any of the wild animals that the LORD God had made. He said to the woman,“Is it really true that God said,‘You must not eat from any tree of the orchard’?”
2The woman said to the serpent,“We may eat of the fruit from the trees of the orchard;
3but concerning the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the orchard God said,‘You must not eat from it, and you must not touch it, or else you will die.’”
25Then in the fifth year you may eat its fruit to add its produce to your harvest. I am the LORD your God.
15I will provide pasture for your livestock and you will eat your fill.”
12Its foliage was attractive and its fruit plentiful; on it there was food enough for all. Under it the wild animals used to seek shade, and in its branches the birds of the sky used to nest. All creatures used to feed themselves from it.
6When the woman saw that the tree produced fruit that was good for food, was attractive to the eye, and was desirable for making one wise, she took some of its fruit and ate it. She also gave some of it to her husband who was with her, and he ate it.
17Bring out with you all the living creatures that are with you. Bring out every living thing, including the birds, animals, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. Let them increase and be fruitful and multiply on the earth!”

23So the LORD God expelled him from the orchard in Eden to cultivate the ground from which he had been taken.
12On both sides of the river’s banks, every kind of tree will grow for food. Their leaves will not wither nor will their fruit fail, but they will bear fruit every month, because their water source flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.”
37They cultivated fields, and planted vineyards, which yielded a harvest of fruit.
12The man said,“The woman whom you gave me, she gave me some fruit from the tree and I ate it.”
