  • 33Look, the Sovereign LORD of Heaven’s Armies, is ready to cut off the branches with terrifying power. The tallest trees will be cut down, the loftiest ones will be brought low.

  • 2ב(Bet) The Lord destroyed mercilessly all the homes of Jacob’s descendants. In his anger he tore down the fortified cities of Daughter Judah. He knocked to the ground and humiliated the kingdom and its rulers.

  • 25“At that time,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies,“the peg fastened into a solid place will come loose. It will be cut off and fall, and the load hanging on it will be cut off.” Indeed, the LORD has spoken.

  • 14So the LORD cut off Israel’s head and tail, both the shoots and stalk in one day.

  • 15The sword is outside; pestilence and famine are inside the house. Whoever is in the open field will die by the sword, and famine and pestilence will consume everyone in the city.

  • 8So take warning, Jerusalem, or I will abandon you in disgust and make you desolate, a place where no one can live.”
