2Job spoke up and said:
9His anger has torn me and persecuted me; he has gnashed at me with his teeth; my adversary locks his eyes on me.
10People have opened their mouths against me, they have struck my cheek in scorn; they unite together against me.
2“Oh, if only my grief could be weighed, and my misfortune laid on the scales too!
1Job’s Reply to Zophar Then Job answered:
2“Listen carefully to my words; let this be the consolation you offer me.
5Then he angrily speaks to them and terrifies them in his rage, saying,
19Who will contend with me? If anyone can, I will be silent and die.
12I was in peace, and he has shattered me. He has seized me by the neck and crushed me. He has made me his target;
10Please stop wounding me! You have almost beaten me to death!
15What can I say? He has decreed and acted. I will walk slowly all my years because I am overcome with grief.
3How long will you threaten a man? All of you are murderers, as dangerous as a leaning wall or an unstable fence.
